No......it's just gained a lot of weight, reduced its insulin sensitivity, lost most all skilled trade, and become blindly "orthodox" in its Christian belief system......and we've got a lot more Jack's and Hardee's.

With the introduction of Mizzou and aTm I feel that it slightly diminished our southern cultural heritage. No slight on them as universities, but they don't represent the true southern traditions of the majority of SEC institutions. Mizzou is too far north and aTm has that wieird, geeky College Station vibe that is a thing of its own.

I cannot dispute this. I was born in Louisiana, but I wouldn't leave DFW if my life depended on it.

Why? Can cousins in Alabama still get married?

Regional culture in general is dying. That's a side effect of globalization.

Most all cultures are becoming more world culture than being something to itself because of immigration from all areas.

Globalization

Hey aTm fellas don't act like Texas is exempt from this. Unfortunately for Texas and the South the things that separate themselves and make them great are dying out. It takes generations to change a culture but sooner or later It will. Maybe it's because of all the liberal arse yanks that move in and frick shite up. These Californians and real yanks(not Missourians) frick up their own state then come down and try to change your laws, your way of life and bang your women.

Not that it means anything, but Missouri was the 12th star on the flag, contributed over 40,000 Confederate regulars to the CSA army, has a monument at Stone Mountain, and there is a Confederate Memorial 50 miles outside of Kansas City in Higginsville. The Missouri Brigade was a Confederate regular division that fought valiantly at places such as Vicksburg, Kennesaw Mountain, Corinth, among others.
