I hope this is a lesson for those who like dickin' around with who they vote for in the primaries.

Jeb could have beat Hillary will integrity and likely could have been a 2 term president.

But nooo, the GOP wanted the clown shmuck who isn't even a real freakin conservative.

A black man with a funny name winning the Presidency caused conservatives to lose their minds.

No he couldn't.

Trump won the primaries and may win the general election because he captured the same anti-establishment mood that carried a back-row independent from Vermont to the brink of being the Democratic nominee.

Jeb Bush (who I think is an honorable man) would have simply been another round of Bush v Clinton and the results would look just like 2008 and 2012.

Trump may well lose too, but he brought states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and even New Hampshire into play and Jeb would have had ZERO chance at any of those.

For the record, today was the first time in the entire cycle I cast a vote for Trump. My primary vote went to Marco Rubio. I'm not thrilled with having to vote for someone you correctly identified as not being a real conservative, but to say Jeb could have won is really beyond ridiculous.

More like, a corrupt, divisive, freedom hating individual created the atmosphere for retaliation in the same form.

This entire past yr has been nothing more than a Jerry Springer episode. There is only one candidate that is pure evil though.

I am not political but just being a human being, I do not understand how people can not see how big of a mistake Obama was. It shows that people will do what they always have done and there are "sides". And that people on sides will not change.

Very sad

No, I'm pretty sure it was a mixture of the constant unfounded accusations of racism and xenophobia, the repeated suppression of dissenting speech, the overwhelming executive overreach, the disrespect for police and military, erosion of the American culture, the deliberate erosion of the middle class (vis-a-vis obamacare, overregulation of industry, increased tax burden on the middle class, et al), the deliberate reduction of American power and influence on a global scale, among many, many others.

Seriously, the SECRANT servers don't have enough space to list that scumbag's failures. The typical fringe leftist is too fricking stupid to understand the difference between racism/xenophobia and dissent against catastrophic policies.

two uneducated statements. Jeb would not have won. i would not vote for him and i've never not voted for the republican candidate (not proud of that.) he would have been toast from the get go.

secondly, the GOP did not nominate Trump. Independents and crossovers did. Trump did not win a single closed primary, meaning that people who are registered as republicans did not elect him as the nominee in a single state till Cruz dropped out.

20 years from now Obama will be to Democrats what Reagan is to Republicans.

There is zero difference between the Bush's and the Clintons (well, except no one is a corrupt as the Clintons)

Spot on, and if he wins the general election, it will be due to those same voters.

agreed. i've softened on Obama in my later years. i by no means agree with him on anything, but he was idealistic and was doing the best as he saw the world.

Spleen calls every republican who ever lived a racist, then claims to be middle of the road.

It was republican congressmen that met the night of his 2009 inauguration and vowed to block his entire agenda.
