Not armed ones.

Know how EMS responds to an armed person? We stage and wait for LE to deal with the situation before entering the scene.

Know how we handle one that gets violent after arrival? We withdraw - and get this - then we call LE.

As a last resort, we defend ourselves.

What we DON'T do is take one for the team because the person with mental health issues is having an episode.

I've never done hospital work, but from what I understand they do basically the same thing - call LE and/or security.
