I'm guessing 11 so the KA supporters can holler about 3 straight years of improvement. 8 to 10 to 11.

Smith is nothing more than a prayer and a dream. He could develop. He could be the second coming of Simeon Haley.

Hughes has some potential. He needs a coach.

There's basically 2 players that I think can be plus P5 level players Hughes and Smith.

I'm not quite as sold on Smith.....yet. I mean he's averaging 3.4 ppg. Can he get there? Maybe. But maybe not.

I really like CJ Roberts though.

We have no clue yet. He's not even here yet. Some said the same thing about CVL and others.

And they better beat Eastern Illinois or they will be sub .500 in non con. Lipscomb is horrible and should be a W. I would be shocked, pleasantly so, but shocked if we beat Illinois. Eastern Illinois will determine if we're over .500 or not going into conference play or not.

Just looked at that schedule again and what's so damn frustrating is that in years long ago, I would understand losing to UK, @UF and splitting with Arky. Now I'd be happy if we just don't lose all of them. Frickin' SEC is horrible in basketball. And we're the worst of them all.

The closest comparison for Smith is someone like Bowers. He averaged 3 & 2 as a freshman. Lots of Bowers impact was dunks in transition. Obviously Smith's potential is dependent on gaining about 15 lbs of muscle.

Sutton announced an earlier game and made that comparison.

I saw a game Roberts played in last summer. He has a midrange that I really like. I don't think anyone on the roster the last 3 seasons has that aspect.

I don't remember anyone really saying that.

Looking at the projected roster for this year and none of those guys are still here.

Speaks volumes.

Have to move on from Anderson. Team has been awful his entire time here. Worst stretch in our history awful. Yeah, it doesn't do much good to fire him now but you at least show the fans you are serious about basketball.

If Sterk is doing behind-the-scenes work now, then I'm fine with finishing out the year. The Post Dispatch had the first public media call for the end of the Anderson tenure (that I remember) today. And that will be the first of many.

The revenue for games and concessions will just change around the margin by a mid-season firing. So that's not worth it.

You can't hire a good coach mid-season, as a general rule. So you can't get a head start on recruiting. We are in the pit and we'll have to wait to start climbing out.

Funny to look back and see fans excited about all those players that left. None were great here. Kind of like me thinking that Hughes and Smith could become really good players.

The common denominator in all those players is that they had to play for the worst hire in D1 in maybe a decade.

Mike Alden should have a thermometer stuck in his urethra and smashed with a hammer how he handled that entire situation in 2014. Hiring KA was less than ideal and keeping Fuller on the staff was an effort to keep the BS with Clarkson, Beidsheid, Criswell, and Gant under wraps.

Sterk needs to do what he deems necessary to get the flies off this turd so it will dry up and stop stinking.

Haith was a bad hire as well. He was a year away from being fired at Miami. Sterk has to get the next hire right.

I'll recognize that someone better might have been able to be hired and done a better job with this.

But I think KA started digging us out of something more complicated than a W-L situation when he took this over.

The dig-out is happening. The next guy won't be in such a restrictive and complicated hole as Kim.

Kim Anderson not telling Alden to frick off when it came to retaining Fuller is all on Kim. Timmy did his best Haith imitation to get away from the impending debacle in Louisville. He wore his shite covered shoes the Arena and walked it into the carpet. Coaches all have their back channels and if KA wasn't smart enough to use them to get the skinny on a guy he had no previous relationship with, that is his fault.

the team keeps playing like this I would hope we find someone else, but if they show continued improvement in conference play (I did say if) then the situation get's complicated for Sterk

I remember Mizzou fans being happy Fuller remained on staff -- which ensured a couple of the better guys stayed.

I wouldn't assume KA didn't know Fuller was dirty. He seems to be a good judge of character. I would think it was designed to be a short term thing to help keep some of the talent as a way to help things get off to a better start.

I mean, there's plenty to say on all sides of this stuff.

Ok, I'm willing to listen. What exactly was this dark hole that KA started digging us out of that justifies back to back to back historically bad seasons? And please don't tell me about NCAA investigations because I'll start listing off team after team that has had similar if not worse punishments and didn't follow it with their worst 2 1/2 years in program history. Yes, Haith is a snake oil salesman but that hardly justifies 2 1/2 years of the worst basketball I have ever seen at Mizzou.

KA is not going to do it, maybe the next coach can recruit in state.
Look at 2018 and 2019 Missouri recruits. It shouldn't be that hard to rebuild the team. There's at least 7-8 P5 quality recruits in 2018.
2019 has at least 4 already.
