We need more games like we had today.

Anderson knows how to win DII games.

I'm a big Kim fan, but I have to admit im starting to be a bit concerned. However, Im not going to pass judgement after 1 season....Frank Haith won 30 games in his first year.

I watched this Tenn. game start to finish. Looks like they're back to sloppy arse can't dribble basketball. I think I'm done watching this train wreck of a season. I've watched Mizzou BB for over 30 yrs. This is the most painful to watch in recent memory, or past for that matter. Gawd awful.

I'm beginning to warm over to the fact that KA is a big miss. There was a reason he was passed over before. Now I think we're seeing why.

I'm on record as having been bitterly disappointed in KA's hire.

There was absolutely nothing that told me he would be good as a Div. 1 coach, and nothing in his performance so far has changed my mind.

Good guy, lousy hire. Everything about this situation is on Alden. The environment that Haith created was purely Alden getting conned by Haith in getting the job in the first place.

Can KA recruit at this level? Don't know.

Can KA coach kids at this level? We still don't know.

From what I'm seeing, there is zero evidence in the recipe for success from his hire.

So I took a very informal poll and a very limited sample size, but we were with a bunch of people drinking and watching the game on TV. A comment was made about the size of the crowds, kind of criticizing how no one is going. So I told people I had tickets to the game next weekend (I don't) and if they wanted them, I was giving them away free. Needless to say, not one person out of the couple dozen would take them. You can only imagine the reasons they gave for not wanting to make even the 2 hour drive each way.

He's got plenty of talent, there's no way we should be this bad. The team doesn't seem to have gotten any better at all since November, that's all on the coach. He will lose this team soon if he can't do any better than this, and if we lose a couple guys to transfer then we might as well fire him right then as it won't be getting any better. This is some of the worst basketball I have ever seen at Mizzou and there's really not a good excuse for it. He's got 15 games at least left, time to show what your made of KA.

I don't think people believe this, but it's true.

Tennessee only has four returning scholarship players from last year. Richardson is the only one who averaged more than 5 points last year. Who looked like a more raw team where the talent hadn't meshed? Mizzou or Tennessee?

There may be talent on the team. The one that glares at me is JIII. Left hand dribbler only. Can't do shite with his right. It's not impossible to learn and be effective with the off hand. It takes consistant work and practice but can be done. He goes no further without being able to drive the lane from both sides. My point is, coaches should have been on this from the getgo. I see no progress and it's a coaching problem. If they ere not working with JIII to open his game up then what else is being overlooked?

You mean they will make the SEC tournament right? They sure aren't making the NCAA or NIT tournaments.

I really don't put this hire on Alden. He has tried things his way before. He hired the hot young coach that was a superstar in the making, guaranteed home run hire... That got caught wandering off third after a lead off double...

As he was facing being fired, he pulled out a miracle hire to turn the program around. MA saved his job and turned the program around until he got a whiff of the Arky opening and quit trying.

There was no good hire to be made after MA left. We thought we had Painter, but he was just trying for a raise (and has done nothing since then anyway). Haith wasn't great but with the roster situation that late in the year there probably weren't that many people available. It wasn't great long term but I do give him credit for a short term fix that kept MU heading in a semi positive direction.

Haith bailed at the signs of trouble and once again MU was left to find someone. MA had tried things his way three times and none worked out long term. He had a vocal part of the alumni screaming about KA for each of his hires and he passed on him 3 times. I am truly amazed that he had the guts to hire KA when Marshall turned him down. It takes a big person to admit what they were doing wasn't working and try something else.

If KA works out he is chided that he didn't hire him years ago. If KA fails then MA is chided because it is yet another failed hire. It really was a no win hire for him and he made it anyway.

As for all that... Still not in

Appreciate a well thought out post. Post more please. I disagree with the last sentence though, I'm in for now but have not been blown away with his coaching. I get the feel he is doing the Norm way of breaking down his players and then building them back up. Unfortunately he is doing it to the whole team right now instead of just freshmen. I think that has led to his weird dog house time outs and substitution patterns. It has held us back for now, but hope it pays dividends in the future.

*by time out I mean sitting players on the bench not an actual basketball time out in a game. i probably could word that differently...

I'll give KA more time...but for now, every game makes me want to drink a couple jumbos.
