Wait we're not going to win the NCAA this year? WTF?

Yea ok, guess this may take some time.

It's not like we haven't watched years of crappy Mizzou hoops now, one good season, Haith with SMA players and it's been a frappin desert.

Well we can't expect to be anything but Mizzou.

Naw. They lay an egg against a shite arse team like UMKC, they deserve any shite they catch. It's not the end of the world, it's just the worst basketball I have witnessed since, well I can't remember. I'm hopeful it gets better, but until then I have no problem calling a spade a spade.

Last night was embarrassing.

The program is in horrible shape right now. We're about to undergo a full rebuild from the foundation up. That takes ~4 years. Mizzou has been needing to bite the bullet and do this for a while now, but Frank Haith kept bringing transfers to continue "winning". If you want to win at the next level, a full program rebuild is absolutely necessary right now.

In Mizzou's absolute worst years, they shouldn't lose to UMKC. If we lost to Xavier or Okie State or Illinois, fine. I get it. We're rebuilding. It was fricking UMKC for God's sake.

We should fire the coach.

I don't think anyone (here at least) is calling for KA to be fired. That's assinine if someone is after one game. It's one thing to question the hire and a completely different thing to call for a firing already. In the meantime, I have no problem with people turning the heat up on the staff for shitastic performances like last night.

I think most people are saying the same thing you are saying ATX if you think about it. You say it will be rough. Others, myself included, say it looked like shite. I just wish your post would have forewarned us of how shitty errrrr how rough it would be. UMKC?

btw, I don't get the mindset of a Missouri fan who starts a thread championing "we suck".

Start a thread talking about how good the basketball team is then. I'll post in it.

If last night was any indication, we'll be praying for a Haith-era result from this year. Haith averaged well over 20 wins and we went to the Tourney every year except one. We aren't going to be .500 this year. That's a complete paradigm adjustment. Not a "crappy" 20-10 year with an NIT bid.

People keep saying we've had bad basketball for the past few years, but that's not really true. CFH's teams never lost to low level teams like this, sure they always flamed out at the end of the year, but he won more than 23 games each year and dominated these kinds of noncon games. This is inexcusable.

And I was being serious. If there are any positives to come out of last night, I'd jump in that thread.

Teki is going to turn into a player. Just hope he sticks it out at Mizzou.

I don't consider myself a sunshine pumper, hell when the search was going on I wanted Howland. I did warm up to the idea of Kim once I heard what he had to say and also keeping the main recruits in tact.

I just don't think it's cool to jump his shite yet since he is a Mizzou alumn, even after an embarrassing loss like this was. I want the man to succeed in a big time way like I'm sure we all do.

His Mizzou history should buy him some time with us.

It does in my opinion. Things will whittle at the patience of folks in varying amounts and varying degrees.

This loss spent a portion of his good-will equity he had built up.

This is a loss to UMKC. That shouldn never ever happen regardless of where the team is at in a rebuild. Never.

Kim has some time but the clock got moved forward some with that disgrace last night.

I hear what you are saying kilo and agree. For whatever reason, that game was a total clusterfrick from A to Z. It's not like he just forgot how to coach though.

shite, Pinkel still has head scratching, embarrassing losses in his 13th season. I realize that is comparing apples and oranges with Pinkel bringing us back to football prevalence and all, but the point being, every coach who coaches long enough will have shitastic losses on their resume.

I just think as a fanbase, we should just chill alittle bit and give Kim a reasonable amount of time to fix this team and program before trashing him.

I know I do. I can't stand what happened last night. He will be given time and I think everyone knows and agrees with this.

At this time though, I think a shitshow should be called what it is. Last night was a shite show.

Young team needs to grow. Maybe too much too quick, thinking more than just playing? These kids have the talent, Maybe Kim changes his approach? Who knows? It's to soon to be loosing our minds over one game. Back to back to back losses to bad teams, different story.

sorry but a lot of what I have seen from the Snyder, SMA, FA teams has been sh*t that passes for basketball because you have a lot of tall(sometimes) kids on the floor, last season was a great example. It's more inexcusable that our hoops has ever gotten to this state in first place.

I'm still not a fan of the hire, but nothing to do with last night. My issue is that even if he turned the program around, he's so fricking old that'll he'll retire soon and we're back to square one.

And it's not that it's going to be a "rough season." It's going to be the worst season of Mizzou basketball in my lifetime. And I graduated Mizzou in 1993. Let that sink in. This will most likely be the worst season of Mizzou basketball in half a century at least. But yay! True son.

"In your lifetime"? And you graduated from Mizzou in '93? If my math doesn't fail me that puts you at about 43. Good grief man, get over yourself.

While you can't polish a turd like a home loss to the Roos, the fact is that KA inherited an epic mess. The guy deserves to coach more than one game before being written off or even doubted.

You Chicken Littles kill me; dropping the rifles when the first shot gets fired. Speaking of chickens, if you find Mizzou hoops so abominable, go root for the beaks. They're perennial contenders, so that might work for you. It's as easy as buying a hoodie.

You have to be tough if you're going to be a Mizzou fan. The weak or fainthearted need not apply. Did you not learn that while you were there?

They will make the tournament this year. All you people bitching about his first game are a joke. If you think Haith is a better option I'm sorry but you are a moron and have no clue.

They won't make the tournament unless something seismic happens. Remember we had over 20 wins last year and didn't make the tourney. We aren't getting to 20 wins this year. We could be around 5-8 when we hit conference play just by eyeballing the schedule. If we finish .500 in league play, we will have played pretty well.
