In. And I'm not an old fart longing for the Norm days either. I don't even remember the Norm days.

Mizzou fans need to chill the frick out. It's 1 game. The first two seasons will be tough and I expect significant progress in year 3. Tournament bound in season 4.

I'm sorry but taking four years to make the tourney is unacceptable. If that is what KA is capable of than he is the wrong guy for the job.

The program is in horrible shape right now. We're about to undergo a full rebuild from the foundation up. That takes ~4 years. Mizzou has been needing to bite the bullet and do this for a while now, but Frank Haith kept bringing transfers to continue "winning". If you want to win at the next level, a full program rebuild is absolutely necessary right now.

I don't buy it. That's the NCAA of 2 decades ago. You get to the next level of winning with talent. If we don't get talent, we're not winning anything "next level."

A senior laden team can go on a run and get to a Sweet 16 they weren't supposed to make. But you don't win the SEC conference or make the Final 4 without some talent. And some good coaching. If it takes 4 years to get talent in here and coach them up, then we're destined for something not quite as good as Mike Anderson part 2.

You son of a

ha ha

Give KA two years before forming a true opinion. Frank left ya'll in the crapper.

Stop being so reasonable.

It's KIM'S FAULT.

HE gave us a roster of inexperienced freshman and sophomores with a lack of upperclassman and post players. Damn it KIM. WHY DIDN'T YOU CREATE A BETTER ROSTER IN THE LAST 7 MONTHS!!

Dude, we just lost to UMKC. Think about that for a min. I dont care what the roster looks like they shouldn't lose to UMKC on their home court to start a season.

The looked unprepared and sloppy and thats on the coaching staff.

Inexcusable.

No they shouldn't lose to them. We had a bad loss tonight. We should fire the coach. While we're talking about knee-jerk reactions, we should fire Pinkel for losing to Indiana too.

Florida should've fired Billy Donovan in 2010 when he lost AT HOME to Jacksonville and UCF. Who cares that they won the SEC regular season, tournament, and went to the Elite Eight that season. None of that matters because they lost home games to Jacksonville and UCF (oh and they lost at home to South Carolina too). Should've fired Billy D but they didn't. I just hope Mizzou doesn't make the same mistake they did.

as I've been saying and will continue to say, next year will be rough *no matter who the coach was going to be*. Marshall, Howland, Jim Boeheim, Coach K, Phil Jackson would have struggled with it. It will be a roster full of young guys and new guys with very little scoring punch. That's just tough.

I know how shitty our basketball fanbase has gotten and on message boards its even worse. I know what to expect coming here. Threads like this. But it still cracks me up.

Disappointing sure. But if you look at the situation I completely stick with what I said in April. Of course our fans are gonna pile on like this after Game 1 for the coach, because fans gonna fan and this hoops fan base in particular has gotten so shitty. But this is gonna be a long process. It would be regardless of who the coach was. That's just the reality. But please, by all means, continue on with the Fire Haith, err wait Fire Anderson (Mike? Kim? hell I dunno just fire everyone) rhetoric.

Kim needs time. This was an epic loss, no doubt and there isn't an excuse but the facts are the roster isn't very good. No shooters, nothing at all down low. You lost Jones, Biedschied and now maybe Gant. Not good.

Going to be a very long year. Hopefully the young guys improve along the way and KA and crew recruit their asses off.

Im willing to give him time and not making long term judgements about him but he laid a fricking egg today and no amount of excuses will work for me. There is no reason that roster should lose to UMKC. That falls on the staff.

There is nothing illogical about the sentiment or is it some sign that I lack "sense".

Still in on Anderson.

Yes, they shouldn't have lost to UMKC but I still like what Anderson stands for.

shite takes time.

EDIT: btw, I don't get the mindset of a Missouri fan who starts a thread championing "we suck".

It's like putting a "kick me" sign on your own back.

Thanks for some reasoned responses. Of course it's a terrible and embarrassing lose, but it's still only one game.

We all knew this would probably be a tough year, but I feel with who we have in charge, a guy Mizzou born and bred, bleeds black and gold, and his dream job, I'm willing to let this play out without jumping in his shite.

We all wanted someone that would make this job their destination job. We have it, and if he turns this around, some of you are going to look like fools.

I didn't say fire anyone. You sunshine pumpers are the best. I had concerns when he was hired that were more than validated last night. That was a CMU performance on a D1 court.

And it's not that it's going to be a "rough season." It's going to be the worst season of Mizzou basketball in my lifetime. And I graduated Mizzou in 1993. Let that sink in. This will most likely be the worst season of Mizzou basketball in half a century at least. But yay! True son.

I don't consider myself a sunshine pumper, but I do take the long view on this stuff.

If 2014-15 leads to greatness / relevance by 2016-17, I don't really care about what happens in between.

Same with Missouri and SEC football.

I assumed going in it would be a multi-year process that would lead to ramped up recruiting, facilities and success. I don't think the recruiting has ramped up as quickly as the success on the field (and I don't care that it's in a down East), but hopefully the recruiting catches up and the success can continue.

Losing to a UMKC is an embarrassment, no question. If we're still dropping these kind of games two years from now, he'll be gone and they'll give someone else an opportunity. What I like about Anderson is he's going to play structured basketball instead of just winging it like the last three coaches and I'm willing to give it time.

When's that going to start? They looked more lost than a CFH team. I'm not sure CKA knows how to coach offense, he had no idea how to attack the zone and our defense was equally terrible. That's on the coaches.
