New 2015 offer for a SDE, could develop into a solid 4-3 DT.
https://247sports.com/Player/Sterling-Johnson-36641
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gZ1wNHtK2c#t=14
From his Jr Highlights: It needs to be prefaced that he's probably one of the biggest kids in his division, the guys trying to block him were not what you think of as typical OL. Violent tackler, plays with a lot of attitude. He's explosive on the first step, uses his power to his advantage. Doesn't use a lot of technique to shed blockers but at his HS level he doesn't need to b/c he just rolls OL over. He's really gifted at blocking punts/kicks, really good hand eye coordination. He's fast for a guy his size and relentless in pursuit. Appears to be in excellent physical condition, not fat, pursues the ball wherever it is on the field, obviously has drive to hustle. He would be a legit SEC DL player. Really like his motor, power, and swagger.

Just a heads up on Albert Huggins. Education is one of his biggest concerns when he's going to pick a school. He wants to major in Civil Engineering. He said the 2 instate schools have recruited him the hardest. He said that he has the best relationships with Marion Hobby, Coach Sands and Coach Adams out of all his recruiters. He said that all schools are even right now. He said that UGA was one of his childhood favorite teams.
Here's an interesting catch the taters won't like:
clem5on's Civil Engineering Program is ranked #56 on USNEWS, USC's is ranked #72nd
https://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/civil-engineering-rankings/page+3
UGA is ranked 119th for Engineering Undergrad Schools by USNEWS.
USNEWS UGA Engineering School
clem5on's Civil Engineering school is only ranked slightly better than USC's (there are a lot of schools tied at 56th and 72nd.)

Sounds like with us missing out on Scott, we may go after 2 RBs for the '15 class. Looks like both Love and Hines are similar type backs: we may possibly take only one of them, and go after some bigger, power back in line with the Lattimores, Wilds, and Davis' we've gotten recently.
I mean, Davis is 5-9 too, but he's a solid block that's also 30-40 lbs heavier than them, so I doubt they'd be as good in that role as Davis is (and even he got dinged up a bit towards the end of the season)....

New offer, could be a SDE or a 4-3 DT. He's coming down here in 2 weeks, on an unofficial of course, to meet the coaches and look at the campus facilities.
https://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/907403/highlights/113690380
It's kind of what I was expecting for a DL ranked in/around the top 100. He was just a better athlete than most of the kids on the field. After watching the film, I like him better as a 4-3 DT than a SDE. He has good speed and solid acceleration. Tackling is the area he could improve the most at, he doesn't wrap up a lot and he goes for clubbing hits and leg sweeps with his arms. He could work more on his lateral speed as well. He did show several good techniques though (especially near the end of the reel,) he has the swim and a decent spin move down. That spin move won't work as a SEC DT though. He also has good hand eye coordination and did a good job anticipating the QB's throw as he batted down more than a fistful of passes this season.
He could do really well in our system, but honestly, I was more impressed with Sterling Johnson a couple posts above.

New OT offer.

I don't know if he's actually 6'5" or 270 lbs, although I might believe the weight more b/c he appeared to be fairly strong. After watching the highlights, I like him much better as an OL than a DE. I don't think he's fast enough to play SDE in the SEC, However for an OT/OG in the SEC he has decent enough speed/quickness. I do really like him in run blocking. It's not like he was playing a bunch of guys who were a fraction of his size. Several of the guys he was blocking were probably D1 level recruits as well. In Pass Blocking he did really good, but there were a couple times when he extended out his arms fully, when what he wanted to do is to lock them closer, a really good DE would spin or bat his hands and break loose around him for doing that. I liked his footwork, he seemed balanced through the whole reel and he kept his hips lowered and shoulders squared. He's been coached well on that. Looking at some of this other offers, it looks like he does well in school too, so that's a plus.
I thought his highlights were well selected and edited.

Here is WR Jerad Washington's Jr Highlight reel. He's the guy we don't know if the coaches accepted his sommitment or not, and there seems to be a lot of confusion on it. He's OLB Pittman's team mate, we're his only offer still.

I actually liked his highlight reel more as I watched it longer. This isn't a reel with a guy catching 20 TD's and 10 long passes. I think it showed things that he does well in multiple situations, and that's why I liked it, there was consistency in what was shown. yes, he's fast, but not D. Byrd fast. He can catch the ball, he can make the first guy miss, but he also does some other great things. He blocks for his team mates with intensity. He's not a big dude, but he was really going after guys blocking on running or screen plays. He does a really good job of making the first guy miss, he's got backyard football skills of juking, but it needs polishing. Almost at the end of the video I started wondering if he could break off even longer receptions if his QB had a stronger arm and could get the ball there sooner.
The biggest consistent thing I saw that I really liked was his awareness of the 1st down marker and his tenacity to always fight for extra yardage. He never would just lay down after initially hit and there were several times he just lowered and dove past the marker. Overall, I thought he was tough, he fought for extra yards and went after the guys with his blocking.

He's coming tomorrow for a visit.
Also, interestingly enough Ricky DeBerry, one of the Top LB recruits in the country for '15 (who came to the clemson game and our coaches went to visit last week,) advocated for USC on McLean's twitter, after McLean announced he was coming for a visit. Something might be going on here in our favor with DeBerry that isn't being talked about yet on the pay sites.

Johnny Frasier just might be our top RB prospect this year, his stock is rising fast and offers are rolling in. He just rushed for over 3000 yards this past season and over 12 ypc.... This is a big time back who we need to reel in now, b/c his stock is only going to go up.

ok, so now we offer the Top in-state RB Ty'Son Williams.
https://247sports.com/Player/TySon-Williams-34533
We just offered today, he had recently sent film in to our coaches, Deke is his primary recruiter.
https://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1414109/highlights/40148386
I watched both of his season highlights (the one released in Dec and Jan.) I was thinking that since Deke got some new highlights and offered that there might be some exceptional stuff in the January one, but it was a continuation of him running the same plays from the reel in December.
He says he runs a 4.5 and I believe him, he's quick and has great acceleration too. I really like how he keeps his body low for cuts, he constantly moves his feet too through jukes, he gets the ball outside and he fights for extra yards. We run a completely different system than his HS team, but that might change this season as I heard the HC just left Crestwood. I think he could help us, hopefully this can work out.

I see a bunch of DEs and CBs which is surprising considering the arse load we just brought in (assuming Sawyer, Thomas and Wideman qualify :fingerscrossed:)
Good to see a bunch of OTs on the list, but wish we had some waiting in the wings because Robinson and Shell are gone after this year.
Seems like some of our highest rated OT prospects get moved to guard as well (B. Stadnick and Na'Ty Rodgers come to mind)

He's a highly rated legacy APB who is legit fast. We offered but I think he's favoring the NC schools right now. Hopefully his dad can get him to look our way. We've offered some great regional APB/RB's this class. Nyheim HInes is another really good one who can fly.

I just watched his highlights. He's fast, like track fast but his cuts are explosive. He's the type of RB that DB's don't close in on him downfield b/c he's fast enough to gain additional yards of separation.
247 and Rivals don'r report his 40 time, but hudl has him as a 4.4 and then I noticed that they had his 100m time at 10.9, so I guess he runs track too. That's what I thought within the first 2 minutes of his film.
I actually liked several of this things he did after the 2 minute mark of that film. There was a play that really showcased how fast this guy is on a turnover. He ran down the DB from the other side of the field within 50 yards...and he could've done it sooner, but he overestimated the DB's speed. He's a guy that you can't give any cushion too, b/c he's dramatically quick that first 10 yards.
I think Olympia plays in 8A ball in FL. So his 6+ ypc on a team that went 3-7 is actually pretty good.
He also scored a 117 at a Nike Sparq combine this past weekend.

Gotta get him on campus. VT has an OK history w/ WRs (Josh Morgan, Eddie Royal, Jarrett Boykin) but if we air it out this year like I expect us to then we have a lot to offer. We also need to clean up our depth chart (i.e., encourage transfers).
Selling him on playing w/ Mitch could he huge.
