Several of the top targets on our board for 2013 will be coming to USC this weekend for officals:
Keith Bryant DT
Skai Moore LB
Yannick Ngakoue LB
Na'Ty Rodgers OL
Dreadrin Senat DT
Jonathon Walton LB

Current commits coming this weekend:
Larenz Bryant LB
David Williams RB
Devin Washington DE
Mohamed Camara Spur

Earnest Robinson (4th ranked WR on Rivals) is coming in the 25th.
Quinton Powell (15th ranked OLB on Rivals) is coming on the 26th.

IMO, we get 4 of these guys, possibly more, but we'll see what happens.

Bryson Allen-Williams #14 OLB, 4 star. He now said the top group is So Cal, UF and USC. He came to our Bowl game (he's from Florida) and he wanted to commit, but his mom said he has to take an official visit first. So he's coming up Jan 18th and will most likely commit then.

I have read that we are VERY strong with him, and that his Mother also likes us very much, but I believe he is a prospect in the 2014 class, and his Mother wants him to take all of his OVs first before deciding, so I doubt we're getting a commitment from him any time soon. But still, it could come well before NSD in February 2014...

I think he's still coming, but it is correct above that he's a 2014 guy. I read he wanted to commit at our bowl game, but his mom wants him to take his visits. As far as I know, he's still coming on the 18th though. I only listed the 2013 guys above.

Actually one of the better PK articles I've seen, it's just straight info and a lot of it.

https://www.goupstate.com/article/20130117/PSPORTS02/130119667/-1/PSPORTS

USC will stage its major recruiting weekend of January this weekend with nearly 20 prospects scheduled for official visits. Most are already committed to the Gamecocks but three key uncommitted linebacker targets will be in Columbia. Clemson had its big recruiting weekend last weekend and will have just a handful of uncommitted prospects on campus this weekend.

USC visits this weekend (unofficial, subject to change)
Already commited:

DAVID WILLIAMS RB
PHAROH COOPER DB
KENDAL VICKERS DE
KELSEY GRIFFIN DL
JAMARRI SMITH RB
JP VONASHEK OL
ALI GROVES ATH
DAVID JOHNSON DE
DEVIN WASHINGTON DE
DEVANTE COVINGTON DE
MOHAMED CAMARA LB
BRYCE KING OL
JASPER SASSER DB
GERALD TURNER LB
DEADRIN SENAT DL

Non committed targets:

SKAI MOORE LB
YANNICK NGAKOUE LB
JONATHAN WALTON LB
NA'TY RODGERS OL

USC targets visiting elsewhere this weekend

Good news. It would be so awesome if we could finally put together a beast OL that can actually give the QB time and run block.

Kornblut edited his above blurb to show Senat as a non-committed target, which is what he is...

Stanley apparently had car trouble, and wasn't able to make the visit as planned. The old "car trouble" excuse is way over-used, IMO....just say why you didn't want to come....

South Carolina DID get a big commitment today from 2014 class OLB Joe Blue (5-11, 230) of Dillon. Blue is a projected 4* LB who has also played FB, and could contribute at USC in either position....

Yep, Blue is a big pickup. With offers from a few great SEC programs and So Cal.

Not bad considering he is only a JR. I'm sure he'll still pick up a few more offers along the way.

More good news. Na'Ty Rodgers, 4 Star OT, Under Armour All American, just picked the Gamecocks! OL class this cycle is solid.

With Rodgers' commitment, USC's staff now has five total offensive linemen in the 2013 class including Dillon (S.C.) linemen D.J. Park and Bryce King and Georgia's Alan Knott and J.P. Vonashek. Rodgers was recruited to USC by Gamecock quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus.

Awesome news.

A GREAT pick-up! Rodgers was IMO the cherry on the top of the dessert, the highest-rated 4* OL of a class of 4* OL by at least one of the top 4 recruiting sources (Rivals, Scout, ESPN, 24/7).

I was thinking that we weren't going to get him, after Rivals posted that he was all set to announce at the Under Armor All-Star game for Maryland, but postponed it because he wasn't able to get all the family up on the stage like he wanted to (ESPN placed a 2-fam member max this year). MD's OC Mike Locksley was scheduled to have an in-home visit today after he attended our final big recruiting weekend, so I was afraid we were going to lose him....

But I was somewhat OK with that with our already solid OL class, and with what we are expecting to have a GREAT chance with in the '14 class (Stanley, Spain, Brown, etc.). But if we can sign all 5 and get them on campus by the fall, that would be fantastic!

Rodgers is a 5.8 4* OT per Rivals, is the 21st OT and Rivals 250 (233rd). He is a 90-grade 4* per 24/7 Sports...

Word is out of Tallahassee that Yannick had a great time and is telling other recruits considering FSU to go there. So that sucks.

meh, I wouldn't put too much stock in that. He gave us great reviews and he was just at USC. Also, he's buddies with Na'Ty.

IMO Ngakoue is a long shot, but we're still in great shape with 2-3 other highly rated LB prospects. Hopefully we can pull 1-2 of them, and call it a day....

So our board right now looks like

DT
K. Bryant (decommited from Miami, visiting this weekend, postponed from 1/18.)
D. Senat (decommited from FSU, just vistied, USF and USC Lead. Probably will wait until NSD.)

LB
Skai Moore (just visited, stated he's favoring us)
Walton (just visited, stated he's favoring us, will visit auburn)
Yannick (will visit this weekend)
Quinton Powell (will visit this weekend, favors So Cal, Oregon and USC. )

WR
Earnest Robinson (committed to auburn, but visiting this weekend)

We can technically take 8 LOI's but we'd have to cut next season (we had 3 EE's this class that count back to last year and we can take 25 per cycle). So I think we will take 4 or all depending on the commitment order.

We need 2 LB's, and everything else will fall in place.

Take off Quinton Powell. He's no longer visiting. The coaches feel good about Yannick and Skai.

Cool, Senat just named us as his leader. Spurrier will do an in home visit tomorrow. Skai Moore also gets an in home visit tomorrow with Spurrier as well.

I think we get both these guys, which puts us at 22 this class.

Powell is off the board now.

We look good with Yannick too, but I wouldn't be shocked if he went to Maryland.

We are also still in it for K Bryant, but we'll see if Deadrin's possible commitment impacts that decision.

We still look good with Walton too, but he has is official to auburn this weekend.

Also, I don't know if Earnest Robinson is still offically visiting this weekend. It still says so under his 247 profile, but not on the list of upcoming visitors (and they just updated that yesterday when Powell cancelled.)
