It couldn’t be because of the injury. Bruce made it sound like this kid was a vegetable until 2 weeks ago.

He’s an elite shooter. He’s definitely in when he’s on a team that lacks shooting.

Good shooter and is designed to play the 2 spot. Not a great PG and has some issues on the defense side of the court.

He saw Trey Alexander play and knows the young gun is coming for those minutes next season

It's all apart of the process

AU was confident he would be cleared to play again. Everyone made a big deal about his concussion because he was out a couple of months, but some people have longer lasting effects from them.

Yeah he would’ve been starting at the 2 if Cooper comes back. He shot 44% from 3 this past season. He’s going to be elite from 3 wherever he ends up.

Something else happened after the concussion, or so I hear

He is not going to beat Flanigan out of the two slot. And he is not PG.

That’s because Flanigan isn’t a 2. Most likely it would’ve been Cooper-Powell-Flan and two of Smith, Williams and Thor.

You don’t leave that shooting on the bench in Pearl’s system.

Where would you play Flanigan ? PG ? 3 ?

it might be an indication that Cooper and Flanigan are returning next year. That would make Powell a sub on that roster.
It would be hard to come up with a dumber theory.

Really, why? Do you think Powell is a PG? Do you think Flanagan is a PG? Do you think Powell would beat out Flanigan for the 2 position? If not where do you put Powell into the starting lineup? If you doubt what I say, look at Flamigans production with Cooper playing the 1 vs Powell playing the 1 vs Flanigan playing the 1.

Wtf are you talking about. Yes Flanigan could play the 3. If Bruce can manage with Dane Bradshaw playing the 4, then Flanagan can play the 3.

Flanigan is 6-5 and having him at the 3 and Powell at the 2, you are giving up a lot on the glass and on Defense. Sure he could play there, but it would be a net deficit for the team.

6’6 is the typical height for a small forward. And in position-less basketball it makes even less of a difference. Hardly anyone even has a true 5 anymore. I can’t remember the last time Tennessee had a guy much bigger than that at the 3 and if they did they also slid over and played the 4 half the time... ie Tyler Smith. shite he was only 6’7.

We have JJJ playing there now along with Keon Johnson and Pons. All at 6’5 and 6’6.

I dunno how many of these you guys have to read before you realize that Puppets is never going to

(a) point-blank say something is bad for Auburn

(b) point-blank say something is good for Alabama

Ever

I wouldn’t reference UT basketball if I were you, they’ll be bounced early in the tournament, no doubt.

Alabama plays 3 different guys at the #3 slot

- Primo (6-6)
- Petty (6-5)
- Ellis (6-6)

Hell, Auburn played Devan Cambridge at the 3 all year this year. He's 6-6.

Okoro played the 3 all year last year. He is also 6-6.

Doughty and Dunbar played the 3 the year before that - they are 6-4 and 6-6.

I'm pretty sure Bruce has NEVER had a SF in the regular rotation at Auburn that was taller than 6-6.
