Auburn should have won the national title in 1983. Absolutely hosed, been discussed numerous times on this site. They had a better resume by far than Miami or Nebraska.

Oh, right, I've actually seen the Miami over the Huskers game. A really entertaining clash. That was a rough year to be a great team. Much like 2004.

Adding in 1993, and Auburn has had some seriously bad breaks, haven't they?

Derrick Thomas and Tyrann Mathieu = much better than JFF could ever wish

Seriously. I'm glad these two were brought up in the first page. Did people in Tennessee forget we play defense in the Sec?

Champ Bailey was also better than him.

more dynamic football player than JFF. It's not even close.

I agree. He was probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen on a college football field. But he blew it and shouldn't be included of these lists.

Idk why everyone just assumes Bo was more athletic than Herschel Walker. I put them about neck and neck. I think Herschel had better top end speed as well. The dude ran a 4.39 at 49 years old too. INSANE.

He is but he only played one year.

And in that year he accomplished more than Tebow did in his career.

I disagree. Tyrann turned his life around and became one of the best defensive backs in the league. Johnny got worse when he reached the NFL. Tyrann made the best of a difficulty. Johnny did not.

Bo had a much larger skill set, I guess would be a better way of putting it. In terms of sheer raw athletic power, we can have a serious debate, but in terms of application of the athletic ability in question, Bo wins running away.

In fairness, he played two professional sports at a high level. Herschel is quite an athlete, too, don't get me wrong....but football and baseball is quite impressive.

You can disagree. And you would be wrong. There are countless athletes that are not given their due because of character/personality issues.

You are comparing the two while talking about character?
Maybe Tyrann turned it around after the NFL, but he certainly let his teammates, coaches and school down while in college. And, we are talking about college.

He was a great player, but he probably will not get the credit he is due because of his other issues. You don't have to agree, but it doesn't change anything.

Not sure if I would say, running away. You know Herchel competed on the Olympic Bobled team, has competed in Mixed Martial Arts and has a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do?

Tyrann was a drug abuser who only has a "second nationally" ring. Tebow was a beacon of morality and was instrumental in two national championship teams.

Don't compare the two.

I like this game.

Tebow is an arrogant washout who used his religion to gain sympathy for his lack of skill by kneeling down every time he threw a completion.

Mathieu is the highest paid safety in the league and one of the more humble players today.

If Herschel grew up playing baseball and loved it as much as Bo then I have no question that Herschel could have played baseball on the professional level. If I had to pick one or the other for some type of iron man competition I'd take Herschel.

It's the personality difference.

Johnny is a rich upper class white kid who had everything handed to him his whole life. As soon as things started to not go so well, he spiraled out of control. He'll probably return to the dirt within a couple years.

Mathieu came up with a shitty home life and had to work for everything he's been given. He screwed up, straightened up, and has gone on to be one of the best talents in pro football today.

Johnny Football is mentally weak and morally bankrupt. Tyrann found value in life outside of football.

Peyton and Archie Manning would be above Manziel.

Derrick Thomas.

McFadden.

Johnny frickup beat Mante Teo and Collin Klein for the Heisman. Weakest field EVER in the history of the Heisman. He basically won it by default because he was slightly more sane than Teo.

Why would a FAMU fan even bring up his name..he is an embarrassment to his own father let alone his college.
