pretty sure LSU is doing wonderfully in all of these areas.
Better enough than A&M or Arkansas to get those coaches to leave?
You are playing the role of the LSU braggart so you will say yes, the reality is no.

Bobby Petrino left Arkansas to become the head coach of Western Kentucky. After that, he moved up to Louisville.
Simpleton, he was fired in dramatic fashion.

Maybe not aTm, but seriously, Arkansas?
Have you seen their facilities? Their recruiting grounds? And what history?
LSU is a top 10 job. If anything, Bert wouldn't leave just because it's also in the west, and it'd be kinda shitty to do as a HC.

LSU and Bama aren't recruiting texas much differently than they have the past 5-10 years. Any given year somewhere between 3-8 players go to those two schools from texas.

They have a lot of resources and are willing to spend money on coaches. They stole wincy's coach for a reason.

You're not going to see coaching wars come down to money anymore in the SEC West. Nobody's scared to fork over money.
It'll be perceived limitations and opportunities.
Or just hurt feelings, in some cases.

We hired our last 2 coaches away from a NFL team and the Big Ten champion. The list of coaches we're known to have turned down include Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Pete Carroll and Gus Malzahn. The list of great coaches the State of Arkansas has produced include Bear Bryant, Switzer, Malzahn and Charlie McClendon. These are just a few names to give you an idea of how easy it is to hire great football coaches at THE University of Arkansas.

A lot of money for limited expectations can be quite appealing.

Are there Golden Corral restaurants in Baton Rouge?

Oh, and I didn't mention that we've fired nearly every coach we've had since Frank Broyles, including Petrino and Lou Holtz. The only coach to leave during that span was Ken Hatfield, who was born in Arkansas and played for the Razorbacks, but couldn't put up with Broyles any longer.

Petrino was safe until..well..you know.

Right. Because Arkansas would "fire" the greatest coach of all time at the program after an 11-2 season.

I just don't see any intraconference head coach poaching happening. Too many good coaches outside the conference to do that. Assistants/coordinators are different, as often they get credit for knowing "SEC-style football."

Yea.... When you get caught lying to your employers, that's usually grounds to getting fired.
Its not all about winning....

Bert's continued employment in Fayetteville is a perfect example of this.

In 2015 what matters is money/resources, recruiting base, history and then facilities in that order.
Oregon might disagree with that order.
