Yep,the schools do all they can to block coaches from going to other sec teams.

In answer to the op,Bret would be a fantastic hire for LSU,this guy could wreck the conference with that talent and his way of managing a team.

All he lacks here is the recruiting ground, but he's going national with his recruiting to make up for it.

Anyone with football knowledge can see this guy will be successful and I hope it doesn't come to another school taking him away any time soon.

And just happened to land in Tuscaloosa, where he haunts LSU fans yearly. As far as I'm concerned, Chavis was the LSU's coach, because he was the reason LSU won and then he left you.

Didn't read the thread, but yes absolutely. I thought Bret was going to fall on his face in this league but that dude is a great coach, and his style matches lsu imo.

In hindsight, I also have to respect that he took the Arkansas job knowing it was a mess, yet confident he could turn it around.

Great coach.

The only other SEC coach I would take over him is Saban. I don't see him leaving Arky for anything other than the NFL.

I hope you're fricking joking. He's 2-14 in the SEC the past 2 years and the only coach you think is better than him is Saban? Really? You're a stupid arse idiot.

Total hypothetical, but IF the job were open, I would not be disappointed with said hire. IMO he's a solid coach whose style is very much in line with our own.

That being said, I'm hoping that the timing of Les winning his next two NCs and deciding to hang it up coincides with Chip Kelly "realizing" that his heart is in college football

Congrats on the win, but that doesn't address my point. Try again?

Arkansas can hardly win the West...hell, Arky can barely manage to finish top 4 in the West.

And you were saying about LSU's shortcomings, again?

LSU has won the West 2 more times then Arkansas, so by your logic, I guess you could say the same about LSU.

I think LSU should fire Les and open their wallets for Bielema. I'd enjoy watching them wince when Bielema says no to their sewer palace.

Kelly at LSU would be interesting, but it's bad timing. I fully expect Miles will take LSU on a 3-4 year upswing again, with maybe another national title in that stretch.
Watching Kelly gut the Eagles so badly, I don't think he makes it through 2016 before getting fired. He might not make it through this season.

Sure. So would Knute Rockne, Vince Lombardi, and Bear Bryant. LSU could just as easily 'choose' one of them.

We understand that you have recognized that our coach would be a vast improvement over Miles, but LSU could never poach him as long as we want him.

Hell, you probably have the inside track on Saban in a year or two. Everyone can tell he is getting tired of Alabama's shite. You just have to live with Lester for a few more years.

Nope! Kiffin would be a good hire. I'm surprised that Florida didn't hire Kiffin although I thing they made a great hire.

I agree. Although him succeeding just enough to be run out of town when Les retires would be a nice dream scenario. By that time, I'm sure names we've never heard of will have surfaced, monumentally changing the equation.

I also agree about the 4-year upswing. I think he's positioned himself perfectly to have what could be the best 4 or 5-year stretch in LSU history.

I'd bet large that more corn dogs are consumed in virtually any other SEC state than in Louisiana...

Same as the Aggies. Without Texas to direct their negative emotions they think we're the next closest thing. Little bro syndrome...
