Matter of fact, 95 Nebraska rarely ran a triple option play. They used the I-bone offense, not the triple option.
nebraska ran the triple option, primarily out of variants of the I formation(stacked i, power i, etc.)

It's not the same at all as Georgia southern. One poster was trying to say they're the same (they're not. I have watched quite a bit of game film of 95 Nebraska too)

Sure the record was 1-1, but Bama dominated enough in game 2 to make that stat almost irrelevant IMO
Idk, maybe I'm wrong but who knows. It's 2014 now
For the record...I will acknowledge that Bama was the best team in 2011. 1/9 was the NC and we shite the bed.
However, this discussion is about the best defense and LSU can have the best D while not having the best team. Also, you failed to mention one very important fact. LSU's win was at your stadium and certainly carries more weight...especially in a 9-6 game. I would add that the 9-6 "game" might be one of the greatest defensive battles...ever.

My definition of elite offense is being an all time great. I stand by my opinion (2 of my posts ago)
You sound like an idiot. That offense featured two offensive lineman, a wide receiver, two tight ends, and a rb that were drafted... in the first round. They scored over 40 6x, over 50 3x, and over 60 twice. That was an elite offense.

Look im a LSU fan and i loved my nasty tigers in 2011, but BAMA defense was frickin insane, they were so nasty.you literally couldn't run for more than 2 yards on them if you got lucky.

If you need a stop you call up 11' Bama, if you need a big play you call 11 LSU.
How about combining those 2 teams in a game against an All Star team from the Pac12 from 2011. Constant pressure and lots of sacks. Probably would need 3 QB's for their roster due to injuries.

I might believe the picks on defense, but some of the picks on the offensive side are extremely questionable.

They played weak competition. Big east is a joke compared to the PAC 12 or SEC. Have fun being an SEC bottom feeder by the way.

Yeah you beat us at home, but you guys got blown out on the biggest stage. To lose like that, makes 9-6 go down the toilet (which is why Bama were crowned national champs, not co champs)
Now had the score been something like 13-9 Bama, a close score, it'd be a different story.

I think it's pretty clear 2013 LSU offense was more talented than AU's 2013 offense.
2013 LSU may have been the most talented offense in the country last year.

It's not all about talent. This is why I always say 01 Miami is not the best ever, because there is a lot more to it
I think for Bama, Auburns offense was much harder to stop. CJ Mosely could've had 4 picks off Mettenberger

Our 2011 resume is unparalleled.
Bama's 2009 resume trumps LSU's 2011 resume; Bama was 14-0 in 2009, and beat two 13-win teams along the way (which, I believe, is the only time this has been accomplished by any team). LSU had probably the best regular season resume in history that year, but the shellacking they received in the BCS title game takes away much of the luster.

To have the strongest resume from a season, a team obviously has to be the best team in the nation that season. Alabama was better than LSU in 2011, and proved it in the BCS title game. LSU was shut out, held to five total first downs, and 92 total yards of offense in their "dome away from home."

Yeah this isn't even remotely close to factual.

Of course it's factual. A football team's "resume" for a particular season includes all games played, be they regular or post season games. A national championship by one team simply trumps anything accomplished during the regular season by any other team(s) - hence, the best OVERALL resume.

I don't think you understand what factual means.

So FSU's 2013 resume is better than LSU's 2011?
Just for reference:
FSU 2013:
Top 5 wins - 2
Top 10 wins - 3
Top 25 wins - 5
Beat SEC Champs
Beat ACC Division Champs
LSU 2011:
Top 5 wins - 3
Top 10 wins - 3
Top 25 wins - 8
Beat SEC East Champs
Beat Orange Bowl/Big East Champs
Beat Rose Bowl/Pac-12 Champs
Beat National Champs
BTW, by your standards LSU's 2007 resume, which had 2 losses to unranked teams, is better than the 2011 resume. Think about that for a second.
