I'd compare A&M to Vanderbilt, but A&M is the better school (if you like making money rather than circlejerking over US News rankings)

Eh, there was a lot of hostility in the 2011 game based on a bunch of things (dirty play by Fairley, getting smoked the second half at Auburn to end our 4 game winning streak, etc.). UGA's failure to win the MNC is definitely one of the reasons, I'll grant you that.

Just admit it, it was because y'all lost.

UGA fans seem to glance over the fact that they played dirty in that game as well. Y'all are just dwelling on it and using fairly as a means to blame and cope.

LSU to USC is a good one. Baton Rouge/Columbia and Charleston/New Orleans are very similar.

I don't really see UGA/Auburn. I think UGA/Ole Miss is more appropriate. Great tailgating, their graduates strike me as similar, etc.

Our two states have the best old plantation homes, remaining, in the South

You obviously have never visitied Natchez, Port Gibson, Vicksburg or Greenville.
Just a few examples
Natchez:

Port Gibson:

Possibly the most famous antelellum home of all

Vicksburg:

Actually stayed here once

Greenville:

Even abandoned Plantation Homes

aTm is a good school but I think you might be slightly ignorant to Vandy's academic prestige.

Nothing ironic about that statement coming from an Aggie...

To the original question, definitely Auburn for UGA

Is it true that last year was the first time Bama played someone other than Florida in the SEC title? I remember hearing that, it's crazy.

Yep. Florida has made 10 SEC title game appearance and has faced Alabama 7 of those games.

Alabama has 8 title game appearances and until last year all 7 were against Florida.

And i think it has. That 2011 game was very therapeutic for our fans if you ask me. I know it was for me. Then this year I think kinda brought things back to what they used to be pre-Fairley. I'm with what one of the other dawg fans said earlier, I think there is some resentment for AU winning a title recently but I really think most of us will agree that the anger stems primarily from the Fairley shite.
