Your brother from another mother ... errr, Division?

What program do you, personally, consider your brother-program from the other Division? Your kindred spirit?
I'm not talking rivalries here.
I've sort of always considered LSU to be SC's kindred spirit from the West. We both appreciate long-legged, ample breasted women with pefect white teeth, silky hair, pretty smiles and cultured southern drawls. Old red wine and fine cigars. A deep seated love for football and baseball ... to the point where both of them are religious experiences. Night games. Seafood. Long walks on our beaches. They've got coon asses, we've got gulah geechies. We're both flagship universities of our state, located in the state capitals. Our two states have the best old plantation homes, remaining, in the South. Both states breed incredible defensive and offensive line talent. They usually get fricked with their scheduling, we usually get fricked with ours. Paul Dietzel, etc., etc., etc.
That is how I personally see it, from my experience and subsequent long-term perspective.
So here is how I see some of the others.
Georgia and Auburn ... they have a symbiotic relationship where they actually love one another but are afraid to admit it. They do a lot of group hugs when they get together, in a family sort of way.
Florida and Bama ... the reluctant brothers. Currently, probably, the two best overall programs, top-to-bottom, in the league right now. They seem to have a lot of respect for one another.
Vandy and Ole Miss ... goes way back. I've been to a bunch of their games and they are both hotty toddy, Ole Miss just has more of them.
Arkansas and Tennessee ... goes without saying.
Kentucky and MSU.

Florida without a doubt. Beat us good in the 90s, we've beaten them good in the 2000s. Very good games between the 2.

Solid, in-depth analysis here.

NO WAY! YOU LIKE ATTRACTIVE WOMEN AT SOUTH CAROLINA?!?!?! That makes you ultra-unique!
Just messing with you, I like this topic. Auburn is an obvious answer for UGA since we have a long history of playing one another, sharing alums as coaches, and both our student bodies often grow up together. Additionally, we are completely even in our head to head totals (hopefully we take the series lead back this fall).

UGA fans have a lot of resentment towards AU the last few years. Not so much from AU. I think it's because we actually brought the state of Georgia a MNC before the flagship institution did.

Florida and Alabama are interesting in that Alabama is the old school power and Florida is the new school power. Never have been a traditional rival of each other but they have been the two big cheeses of their divisions since 1992 and thus have played a ton of very important games.
The first 3 SEC Championship games were UF/Alabama and that match up has happened a total of 7 times, the next highest is 3 (UGA/LSU).

Eh, there was a lot of hostility in the 2011 game based on a bunch of things (dirty play by Fairley, getting smoked the second half at Auburn to end our 4 game winning streak, etc.). UGA's failure to win the MNC is definitely one of the reasons, I'll grant you that.
Honestly I think a lot of the vitriol died down after that. I didn't see much nastiness at the game or in the stands last year. Typically this rivalry has been a somewhat friendly one.
One thing I've gotta give Richt is that he has us really ready to play Auburn most years and has done a great job against the Tigers.

Is it true that last year was the first time Bama played someone other than Florida in the SEC title? I remember hearing that, it's crazy.

I'm happy you guys could pull a MNC. Any resentment I have is from Fairley being a POS in our game. That's pretty much it.

Alabama. They like to frick us and we like to frick them, and that's how we do it in the South.

Completely gone. Should have said "had" in the previous post. AU is good with me in my book.
