Hungry Howies on S. College st on chapelle show night. $.99 singles at Burger King.

Mostly wal mart.. hamburger helper, pre packaged stir fry, tuna sandwiches.

If I was feeling rich I’d mow down some Guthries. I was broke as crap in college

My man!!

I was in Auburn around the same time as you. You talking bout the Fine Garden.

Great buffet.

Most of my meals came from the CDV extension where my roommate worked (free subs at closing!) and the A&P where a girl (I tutored in Chemisty and Genetics) worked. She would hook me up with food the night before they discounted it.

I was so so poor.

Chick-fil-A and Panda Express consumed most of my meal plan funds.

My roommates and I heard a cat meowing in the kitchen while eating there one night. Oddly enough there was one mystery, chicken like meat on the buffet.

50-cent Kroger pizzas. In hindsight they were like cardboard with little chips of pepperoni. Little Caesars baby pan-pan for a real decadent indulgence. Was paying my own way.

I didn't realize the amount of OT ballers we had in here. I might have been the poorest I've ever been in my life, but I was also the happiest. My go-to was similar to this:

quote:

I went to Kroger most days looking for sale meat and typically combined it with pasta or rice and some sort of sauce.
Except it was A&P for me since I could walk there. Every now and then on pay day, I'd splurge and get the 5 for $5 at Arby's as also mentioned. A $1 bagel from the Goal Post.

Late 90's/early 2000's, Byron's had a lunch deal a few days a week that was 2 sandwiches, chips and a drink for like $3.50 or something like that. I probably ate hundreds of those. I got into a Funyuns phase there for some reason.

Off campus - Mr Gatti’s, Guthries, Mellow Mushroom and Mama G’s

On campus - Chik-fil-a and a make your own pizza place under one of the dorms

But mostly a bunch of cheap shite at home like Ramen so I could afford to eat out at the above places occasionally.

I used to live literally next to the Arby’s that was closest to the football stadium. Needless to say I lived off the crappy sandwiches there for a while. But their sandwiches were ridiculously cheap

Tiger Time Diner (breakfast burrito)

The original Tiger Time or after they bought the old Gabby's place up by the railroad tracks (I think it got nicknamed Gabby Time)?

I think I could eat for a couple of weeks just based on the places that are no longer around.
China King (the owner kicked a friend and some of his buddies out for eating too much from the buffet)
Buffalo Connection
Tiger Time (both locations)
Milo's
Brand X Pizza
Cheeburger Cheeburger
Denaros
West Mag Wendys
West Mag Arbys
Gay Street Burger King
Checkers at Glenn & Gay
West Mag Dominos

Back when Momma G's was on point... early 80's... roast beef, pepper jack cheese, stop at Big Blue for $1.99 6-pack Bush then on to Gentilly for poker with Donnie Humphrey.
Momma G's is sad now.
