Is it not reasonable to assume he had a reason to be pulled over?
quote:This is why there is a serious problem with our legal enforcement. Some people assume that police should be believed in all circumstances and they should not be. Cops must have proof to justify their actions. No legitimate reason was provided for pulling over Roberts. None.
but it's equally as unreasonable to question the cop

Not really, you just come off as a douche as usual. And I know I'm not in the minority.

Was his first arrest the same? Innocent but targeted?

He was a passenger and fled on foot. Read the quote I gave you. Doesn't matter what the hell the driver got pulled over for.

This
is not a relevant response to this
The dude was carrying a gun in a manner that was outside of the law.

There is no way that happened because it does not fit Chex Mix's story of what happened.
Must be made up

Yea but from what I have read in this thread, that is not a issue. They should have just let him go

I love how there is no middle ground. It's either "scum" or "thug" for doing something dumb or targeted by bigoted police.
Not having a permit does not scream horrible person to me but at same time bolting at a traffic stop is beyond dumb. My guess is he knew he had an unregistered gun when pulled over & fled. Suspend him a game, run his arse hard all week & get that gun registered. Everyone moves on with their lives

They are both Class A misdemeanors, as long as the gun is legal, I agree with suspending him for a game or two and making him run stadiums till his legs fall off.

From AL.com: Auburn Police Capt. Lorenza Dorsey told AL.com Roberts was "a passenger in a vehicle and fled from officers during a traffic stop."
So the next question is, what were the police officers arresting him for
quote:
(a) It shall be unlawful for a person to intentionally flee by any means from anyone the person knows to be a law enforcement officer if the person knows the officer is attempting to arrest the person.
(b) It shall be unlawful for a person while operating a motor vehicle on a street, road, alley, or highway in this state, to intentionally flee or attempt to elude a law enforcement officer after having received a signal from the officer to bring the vehicle to a stop.
I have a feeling the charges will be dropped or there will be a diversion program instituted

Im not sure if you mean me but I never insinuated he was a thug or anything of the such. Just a total dumb arse for what he did. That is my middle ground. Total dumb arse
If you want to get down to it though, I would be interested in why he was riding around as a passenger with a unregistered handgun? Maybe coming back from the range?
If I were the coach, I would be asking that question

Yeah didn't realize it was his first run in. I don't think he will get punished too harshly, considering the other 4 got off but the eluding police charge may push him towards a suspension. Who knows

Not sure I quite understand that last though NYC. Does that mean I can be a passenger and if the driver is pulled over for speeding, I can take off running so they don't find the drugs I have in my pocket? Since they were not originally pulling me over, I am good?

Another point of view could be that he was the passenger of a car with a driver who he thought had a significant chance of getting his vehicle searched. The brings up the question of why he's surround himself with dumbasses this close to the season that late at night on a Wednesday.

I am not a lawyer, but law is all about the wording. And the way I see it, if they dont suspect you as a part of the crime the vehicle is being pulled over for, yes.
It'd be nice if WDE came back for the season

I just can't believe it is OK to flee from a vehicle while it is being pulled over. No matter the reason. But I am no lawer either.
But I have watched Cops and they will frick your shite up if you run.

I think the real question we need to ask ourselves is:
What is this false flag operation really trying to cover up over at the athletic department?
