No no. The police make that shite up all the time. Hell, the police probably planted the gun. That would solve all the issues of him carrying it to the car, someone giving it to him or Scotty beaming it up

But here is the thing, why did they pursue him in the first place? There were no other charges. There wasnt anything mentioned or charged with brandishing a weapon. The gun without a permit charge is a result of search after the arrest. But why did they feel the need to pursue? With only half of the story, there are a lot of potential scenarios, and honestly DWB could be one of them

So now the police are targeting Auburn football players with bogus charges
nothing to do with Auburn football players. Police charge people with bogus charges all the time.

Why did he pull Roberts over in the first place? No one seems to know the first fricking clue do they

profiling happens, "suspicious vehicle" is used all the time to pull someone over. The lack of any other charges outside the search seems suspicious. We dont know the extent of the "crime" at this point.

Dude was a dumbass for eluding, but even that much, we dont know the extent.

ETA, this is misdemeanor eluding, usually if its a real chase, its a felony

I think people like Lanier dont stop and think. They see "arrested" and immediately assume guilt and trash the person being arrested.

Lets look at the charges. Eluding police and no CC permit.

Hmmm. Why did the cop pursue him in the first place? Why did he pull him over? Speeding? Nope. No speeding ticket. Expired license? Nope, no ticket there. Taillight out? Nope. Well, damn. Why the frick did the officer pull him over????

Lets play this out from Stephens perspective.

Youre not speeding and suddenly a cop turns on his lights and starts pursuing you. You think, what the hell is this guy doing? I didnt do anything to get pulled over.

Fine, i will pull over.

Cop walks up, "why didnt you pull over immediately when i turned the lights on"
"i'm sorry sir, i wasnt speeding and didnt know why you pulled me over in the first place"
"You have any drugs or alcohol in the car?"
No sir, but i do have a gun
Step out of the vehicle and move to the back of the vehicle. Hand cuffs Stephen. Searches vehicle. Finds gun. Asks for permit to carry. Doesnt have one. Arrests Stephen and says he tried to elude him and doesnt have a CC permit.

Thats how i see it happening. You can attack me all you want, but until there is a valid reason for pulling over Stephen is presented, the cop had zero right to pull him over.

I just want to shake him and ask why he thinks he needs to carry and do so illegally.. Then ask why would you even attempt to elude?

Smh man get it together

Is it not reasonable to assume he had a reason to be pulled over? Sure we can wait for the facts but it's equally as unreasonable to question the cop as it is to question the guy carrying illegally and eluding.

The court will answer but we have to come to conclusions based upon only what we know now

it's not illegal to own a gun, friend

and to think anyone who owns one is a murderer speaks more of you than anyone else

I have plenty of guns. Don't lecture me. But If I did have one in the car and the police turned his lights on, I would not run from them.

And I know, he didn't run from them, they just made it up.

From AL.com: Auburn Police Capt. Lorenza Dorsey told AL.com Roberts was "a passenger in a vehicle and fled from officers during a traffic stop."

So do you have some reason to actually believe that story or do you have some inside info that we don't know about?

And do we think the cop is going to confess and say, "Yeah, I was just kidding. He didn't do anything wrong"?

I may be wrong but I just don't believe the cops are "Out to get us". Was his first arrest the same? Innocent but targeted?
