He needs to say he did not know the gun was there... works in Louisiana..
I hate that players carry so many guns, but I would guess most are packing most of the time.

Ticketed for running from the police and had a hand gun in the car. Don't be a dumbass all your life. Dude should be suspended and possible for good .

Walking around late at night with a gun 10 days before the first game when you've already previously been a dumb frick? Wouldn't mind if they kicked him off the team. Doesn't appear he's ever going to dedicate himself to the team or football in general.

Well to be technical he had to walk the gun to the car to get it in there correct? Or maybe he pulled up to someone and they handed it to him, so there is that.

I'm good with kicking his arse, or any other ding dong that does something stupid like this off the team until the season is over. Give him a chance to come back. Nobody is doing these kids or their teammates any favors by tolerating this garbage behavior.
