War Eagle, fly down the field,

War Eagle, fearless and true.
Fight on you orange and blue.
Go! Go! Go!
On to vict'ry, strike up the band.
Give 'em hell, give 'em hell,
Stand up and yell, hey!
War Eagle, win for Auburn,
Power of Dixieland!

all 3 of those things I have already admitted to being as a result of me apparently not being very aware of the steak culture. That's on me for not getting out more.

I have literally used the word uncultered to desribe myself IN THIS THREAD.

Is this what brings you joy in life, trying to exert your dominance over others?

My dad's ribeye steaks are the best I've ever had. Lots of black pepper and some butter.

So back to the other question, where have yall gotten your best steak ever?

There used to be a place outside of Tallahassee that had fantastic steaks named Nicholson Farmhouse. Their good one used a bourbon marinade that was great.

In Auburn, Good Ol' Boys used to be really good but I have heard that it went down hill a bit.

In Opelika, Cafe 123 is fantastic also. If they cooked pig shite I would get it and try and probably love it. Their pecan crusted chicken is amazing but they are reservation only and pricey.

As far as a good steak for the best price, get a kettle grill small or big and a decent cut of steak from a good butcher. Simple salt and pepper, sear it and cook it to medium rare to medium and put a small dab of butter on it. I don't have any problems with rubs or spices but sauces aren't great on steaks since it hides what it is all about.

In Chicago, try The Chop House. Anything you order, will be incredible.

They fly in Lobster tails every day. Nothing smaller than 2 lbs. Melted in my mouth like Cotton Candy.

Same with the Prime Rib. Have had their NY Strip, and Ribeyes.

Each meal there has been the type you don't forget, and will tell others about...

Agreed. I like a good baked potato on the side with my steak and love it when a little butter from the potato gets on the bottom of the plate and on my steak. That with some sautéed mushrooms and onions

How old are you? I just don't get how a serloin from longhorn is the best steak you've ever had... Christ almighty. Everything about your post was a troll. You can't convince me otherwise. Sorry. It's just too bad.

I went to longhorn on Friday and had a filet with my dad and he got the prime rib and lobster tail and it was a very good steak but nothing insane good. Chops, bones, and Rathbuns in Atlanta are all very very good steaks and constantly rated tops in the nation. Now THOSE are great steaks. Hell the Waffle House probably has a steak on par with a longhorn serloin

The part that gets me is he called Longhorn a high class establishment.

That's like calling a Chili's or Outback a high class establishment

Dude deserves props if he is trolling because I'm stunned that I read his post. I don't think he is trolling at all though. I'd like to know what his income level is if he isn't trolling. I'm guessing he took his wife and let her order an extra fry from the dollar menu for their latest anniversary?

It's the thought that counts ya know....

n other words, after the cow was slaughtered, the carcas/beef was hung and allowed to "age" before it was butchered and shipped. When done properly, the aging process takes weeks. Aging tends to break down the connective tissue in the steak (i.e. muscle) making the steak much, much more tender.

It sure works with whitetail deer.

Don't let snobs get to you. Glad you enjoyed your steak.

Best steak I've ever had was at Peter Luger's. But, other than there, the best ones are the steaks I've cooked myself. Love a good ribeye, cooked med rare. Also, skirt steaks, with proper marinating are amazing.

WTF man?!?! People are assholes on here. The guy liked a steak he had and decided to share it, yet everyone wants to talk down to him as a way to build themselves up. What the hell is wrong with you?
