Said it in the other thread that Gus doesn't think White can throw the deep ball. Ive seen him attempt 3 now and I'm inclined to agree with him.

This isn't true. He throws a fine deep ball.

I'm gonna tell you all 2 reasons why Gus wants to start JJ...

Reason 1: Fairly mobile QB with Passing Ability
Ole Miss 43
Alabama 38

Reason 2: Immobile Pocket Passer with Good RB
Alabama 38
Georgia 10

Can't beat Bama with a pocket passer unless you have superior talent.

I don't see JJ as even "fairly mobile" I don't think White is real mobile and he looks better than JJ.

If Gus wants to play JJ...and that is a big if...it is likely because the difference in arm talent is obvious. Of course, as evidenced by this season arm talent doesn't mean much if your mind won't allow you to throw the ball to the correct place.

You cannot have a 65 yd TD run if you're not fairly mobile.

I still think he'll be ok. I just feel like the "Heisman Hype" really got to him

This is 100% true.

But you can't be mobile unless you have the want-to.

SW seems to feel perfectly comfortable using his feet.

JJ *never has*.

There is a huge difference in straight line speed and mobility to cut and accelerate. JJ clearly has some straight line speed, but I question his overall mobility.

May be true...

I'm just giving you my thoughts on why I think Gus wants JJ to be his QB...plus we can't use tempo with Snowboard.

I am all about letting JJ play a few snaps where he primarily runs. He needs to remember/learn that at his size with his decent speed, he can run. I do not think he will ever be elusive, but just straight runs should get us first downs.

White runs hard, but I am afraid he will get killed in SEC play.

So, because we haven't yet done it, we can't do it..... Just trying to follow your logic here

We need to do what MSU did with Dak. 1 maybe 2 Reads then run as a 250LB QB.

If JJ scrambles using his athleticism, they'll have to spy him with a LB which will simplify coverages

I'd come out and run Jeremy 5-8 plays straight off read plays. I would put that in their heads at the beginning.

Then watch those running lanes open for the RBs and those passing lanes will get bigger.

We have way greater problems than looking toward Bama. We have to win our first SEC game. Bama is gonna wreck us to the tune of 50-60 to 0, only because they let up.

Lol our tempo is a joke. Every time we run "tempo" it's a fricking dive.
