He has to have a SR season so good it overshadows 3 underwhelming seasons.

Wouldn't call the last few years "underwhelming." Sure, the box score doesn't show his talent, but I think a lot of that last year was because our D line was so bad and he was double teamed a lot.

In the context of being a 1st RD pick they were

On avg the past 4 years, only 3 DTs were RD1 selections. If Montravius wants to be a RD1 pick, he needs to start putting up Nick Fairley type performacnes the rest of the season to just have a shot
