Your roommate is full of shite then I played for Rhett at Samford and he is one of the nicest guys ever to be around outside of football. We all loved him while he was there. Also, one of my best friends is the AD at TFA in Orlando (where Newkirk plays) and just raves about Rhett whenever he stops by. And from the few high school coaches I know, Rhett is very highly thought of around the state.

I also realize that that information is one sided. If you were buddies w/ Rhett, you would portray it differently. But, based on results to this point, it is very believable. Just like depth matters on the field, it matters just as much w/i the staff.

When was the last time we blocked a kick? Blackson in the 2011 Peach Bowl? Maybe we have one since, if so, so be it. But when a team is struggling, ST plays an enormous role. While we aren't making a ton of errors, we aren't doing anything special either.

Nice guys make great husbands. Not sure if it works in the SEC. I know he is a good guy. That isn't the question. Can he put a winning offense on the field when the other teams are scheming against your bread-n-butter? Therein lies the problem.

Is this the same guy that guaranteed Trent Thompson to Auburn?

Almost ALL strong, good HCs are arrogant to a point. That is a piece of what makes them successful. I also feel that NICE coaches finish last in this cut throat world of football. So I want CGM to have that edge.

I don't believe for a second that he is too stubborn or arrogant to make changes. The problem is when some people on this board, from hearing from their 'Buddy in the know' feel that RL is the problem then they assume Malzahn is arrogant.

Geez..it is just into his 3rd year. Did MOST of us think JJ would self implode, and not overcome the YIPS in passing? NO! Neither did CGM. And if think he SHOULD have known it. then you havent seen how hard it is to know when you have a successful QB (just look at the NFL drafting of QBs), or other successful College HCs. They all have had years when they struggle because of the failure of their QBs they thought would help them compete for championships.

And to respond to your comment that Malzahn thought he could out wit them, and the result is 5 SEC loses? No, the problem is he didnt have a quality SEC defense to go along with his offense, therefore a DC firing.
Last year and this year problems are not one in the same.

Ah so is this the point of the season where we start pulling sources out of our arse & throwing shite at coaches cuz we suck?

No idea if Rhett is a douche or not. Would not be surprised as lots of coaches are douches but I am a little wary of all of a sudden this "Rhett is a sucky human being & Gus is too arrogant to adjust anything" narrative. No fan base comes up with shite about their program like Auburn fans

Exactly. Every coach is a douche on the field. What separates them is how they act off the field/out of the athletic complex. Coaches have to coach on the field and being a douche is part of that. Just because you're a nice guy off the field doesn't make you a bad coach. I just don't understand Auburn fans sometimes. This went from Rhett being arrogant and douchey off the field to all the sudden he is too nice and can't coach because of that.

Kyle Davis Intel.

He's taking his last visit before he announces to UGA this weekend.

Vols aren't as confident as they were.

Auburn cautiously optimistic, but Keith isn't and never has been with KD

UGA in great position here getting his last official.

For me, it isn't a "Gus' ego is too big to adapt" but how effective will he be able to. Look at the difference between Mike Leach and Art Briles/Kevin Sumlin. It clearly has been harder for Leach to adapt his version of the Air Raid to changes in defense like Briles/Sumlin have been able to.

Gus created this new offensive system and it was based on some core philosophies and ideas. It isn't easy to just change your core philosophy and ideas, especially when they have served you extremely well before.

I find it funny that when things are going good, no one has any sources . Then things take a turn, sources are all over the place. It's comical.

I've commented before that Lashlee rubs some people the wrong way. I've never been super anti Lashlee, was nice to me the two times I have met him

I assume offensive woes are on Gus. Either it is Gus who needs to fix his game, or he shouldn't let Lashlee mess up his game. Regardless, buck stops with the Gus

I have only quoted one source. There are several auRanters who can confirm that.

Ever.

He missed on Evans. So did everyone. I personally added my my own qualifier of skepticism due to from whence the information was obtained.

The KD news has been the same for the past two months. They have said literally the exact same thing for a while now.

I still think he doesn't pick us.

Seems like the Tyron Johnson story from last year.

We aren't really in it.
Home town school definitely isn't in it
Out of no where people believe we lead
Commits to hometown school

ETA:

This is the story of all AU recruiting

I wouldn't compare it to that. This didn't come out of left field like that one did. We've consistently been in it. I just think he goes to UGA.
