Harris got a lot more minutes earlier in the year and would actually battle for position instead of turning around and throwing up a fadeaway jumper.
Our other players have been consistently good or bad regardless of opponent, but Harris has regressed.

You mean he was getting more minutes and playing more confidently against weak competition? Shocking. And he's started to suck now, being a 6'6" power forward, that we're playing longer and longer teams?
Where is our strength and conditioning program, by the way? Why are our guards consistently smaller than other SEC programs?

I already pointed out that our other players have been consistent regardless of opponent. Harris is the only one that has gotten worse.

And you don't think that has anything to do with the challenges a 6'6" PF faces going against guys 2-3" taller than him and just as agile or strong? Barkley was one of a kind.

It's not even clear what you're getting at now.
The transfer from Houston isn't as good as we thought - Fire the coach!

The exact same thing I've been saying about Harris for a solid page?
Just discussing one element of the program. But nice job putting together an asine correlation.
If I think Moses Kingsley is awesome (which I do), that must mean I want MA to be our coach forever!
Do you know MA personally?

Exactly. And they would wipe the fricking floor with MA if he happened to accumulate a comparable level of talent (winning probably 70% or more if that hypothetical played out).
I went back and looked, Mike Anderson played Izzo once, in 2007.. Michigan St won 86-83 on a neutral floor.

What a huge embarrassing failure, Mike should buy a horse and go live in the mountains and stop bothering people.

Anything change since 2007 that might impact the effectiveness of MA's system?

Some of you also need to remember what Mike took over.
He couldn't do what Bret is doing in football because of fricking NCAA APR score or whatever it is. We would have been penalized even more, because he took over a program that did have a lost scholarship because of Pelphrey.
There lies your guard problem.
I'm sure in a perfect world, he would have sent Scott and Wade packing allowing them to transfer and brought in two guards that fit his system.
Mike was handcuffed from the get go.

I was against hiring Anderson and even more so now. The sad part is we probably have 2 or more years of watching this before they even think of replacing him.

Why don't we have a PG in year 3?
Because BJ left and Wade, Scott and Kikko just aren't very good.
We have to keep them around for the APR though because Pelphrey hardly had any players graduate.
Mike adressed our lack of size with last year's class, and this year he's getting a really good point guard. Mike's been successful at every stop once he got all the pieces in place.
I know a lot of people including myself thought that BJ leaving would be addition by subtraction but that's not the case. We could really use a guy with his talents right now because we don't have anyone outside of Fred Gulley that drives to the basket consistently. Qualls does it every once in a while but usually throws up some garbage once he gets close and normally turns it over.

At what point is someone going to address player development. Look at the upperclassmen.
Madden was a 4 or 5 star.
Scott was a 4 star.
I want to say Wade was a 4 star.
Can we honestly say they have gotten better? You could argue that Madden has this year but I wouldn't say it's the yearly progress you would have expected. Mwade and Scott have regressed if anything. I hope I'm not the only person that can see this. And looking at this year's class it is hard to believe we have a lot of help coming from two 3* and a 2*.
Face it people, our program is pretty friggin bad.
Mike shouldn't have to shoulder all the blame, but I certainly don't think we've made a major improvement either..... and that is on him.

Beard is a 4 star and Thompson is a 3 star, get your facts straight before you try to make a cogent argument.
And if you don't think we've made major improvement since Pel then you don't follow Arkansas basketball very closely.

The team has improved. The Pelphrey hire was PeePaw's realization that no one worth his apples wanted to work for him. Coulda had Self but the old racist had to hire black for PR bs.

Anderson needs to go find a point guard in the spring with the 1 scholarship. JUCO, high school, signed player getting a release, there must be somebody to find.

Manuele Watkins was their answer at PG. We stole him from Missouri St. We have 3 PGs from Fayetteville High and none of them are high level D1 talent.

The LR kid is a legit PG.
Much like football needing a QB, our basketball team needs a PG in the worst way.
Dribble penetration with a true PG would do wonders for Mosely and Portis IMO.

look it up.
