The coaches decided on the game 1 starter after Saturday's scrimmage. As for who they picked, I don't know.

That's correct but they didn't practice yesterday so reps before do not matter they change it up a lot.

I'm not even sure how much rep numbers will matter this week because we'll most likely two, maybe three QB's in that first game. They all need reps.

Gun to my head gut feeling prediction:
Bateman starts against USC. Plays 3 series. Doesn't do anything noteworthy.
Hurts comes in on 4th series (possibly gets a snap or two on a gadget play prior to this).
Game two the roles are flipped. Hurts starts and plays until the lead is comfortable- Bateman gets two series- Barnett finishes it off.
Game 3 is Ole Miss. Show time. I think regardless of what happens in game 1, the guy that gets the most meaningful reps in game two is who the staff thinks gives us the best chance going forward. Unless Bateman lights USC up early in the game, then Hurts is going to get a crack at it- same goes if Hurts starts. The staff needs to see who can run the offense against live bullets in prime time.

It seems to me that Barnett has all the tools except a working brain. Sad for the guy but if you want to play the game you got to produce.
Not to put a ton of pressure on Hurts but from his high school vids and what had been posted here he may be that once in a 1000 QB who can keep UA on top.

Shannon Terry hinted that Hurts is the guy and "won over the coaches and players"
But still vaguely implied Bateman would be the game one starter saying he expected Hurts to be the guy "by mid season"
