I've heard he killed the 2's and looked very good against the 1's. Threw a pick in the end zone against the ones. But so did BB8. Bateman had 2 pick sixes if reports are accurate. So Hurts at least held his own if not more.

I'm afraid he will have to do more than hold his own to win the job. I will not bet against the kid.

As far as I have gathered, each QB threw a pick in the red zone. Bateman reportedly had another INT that was returned for a score. I don't believe 2 pick sixes is accurate. EDIT: I just saw a report that Barnett had 2 INT's in 7 on 7 work. TIFWIW.
Additionally, the info out now is sparse and incomplete, and the rain made the passing game difficult.
The interception situation, regarding it's affect our our perception, is best evaluated over multiple scrimmages, as many INT's aren't the QB's fault, i.e. tipped balls, wrong route, etc.
The most important piece of info we could receive is who managed the O the best, and under which QB does our offense maintain the most consistent effectiveness. This info likely won't be known to us commoners, particularly because it isn't the sexy thing to tweet, but it's the only QB info that matters. Play the guy who makes us the best O, period.

AL.com Info on QB from people in attendance
Hurts
Bateman
Barnett
Hurts
quote:
The media isn't allowed to watch Tide scrimmages. However, sources told AL.com that Hurts had a touchdown run of around 50 yards and a nicely-thrown scoring pass of around 50 yards to wide receiver Robert Foster against Alabama's third-team defense. He also led a long drive into the red zone vs. the first-team defense during a two-minute drill before throwing an interception with no time left on the clock.
Bateman
quote:
Bateman, according to sources, threw two interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown by freshman defensive back Shyheim Carter. He also threw two touchdowns during the red zone portion of practice while working with the first-team offense.
Barnett
quote:
Barnett had long completions to ArDarius Stewart and Foster in addition to a touchdown to Stewart while working with the first-team offense. Barnett threw an interception during a two-minute drill period, but it was under similar circumstances as Hurts'. Time was running out and no one was open.

Not entirely accurate, in the red zone he threw a pick to himself and it would have been a pick 6 had Jalen Hurts not made the tackle near midfield. He is having to carry this team, its time for some others to step up and do their part.

This QB battle just reminds me of how everyone shite on Blake Sims all off season and then he earns the start and set records that year.
Then last year everyone was team Barnett including me then Jacob Coker got the job and won two rings.
I also remember hearing everyone crow about Philip Simms and saying he was better than AJ then AJ went on to win two BCS championships.
Now you guys have me believing in Hurts and I should know better by now. Last year I touted BB8. We are never gonna learn...

If coach has any god damn sense he will start Jalen Hurts. Yes, he may cost us a game or two this year with Freshman mistakes but he will give us back to back titles in 17 & 18.
That's my feelings about the whole thing, if you bootlickers have a problem with that go frick yourselves. Roll tide

After watching that Tape of Hurts Senior Season it seems he did everything but block for himself.
He looked strong.Defenders bounced off him when they hit him.I've read where he's one of the Teams "Work-Out Warriors".
Most of the time Freshman QBs come in needing to bulk up a little to withstand the hits.It seems he's already there in that respect.
Whenever it is that he enters the Game,I look forward to it and I imagine Jalen will get a loud welcome from the Fans.

I admit to being semi-wrong about Blake Sims. But that's all I've ever been wrong about before.
Oh, and Barnett is still going to be the starter.

Jalen Hurts once kicked a field-goal during his peewee days, that football is now call Halley's Comet.
