"Dude"...now I know I'm talking to an effing 20 something year old kid...as if that wasn't already obvious.

I will go even further and say some of those drops are due to Hurts not building a consistency throwing to those WRs. I use to play TE, so I understand when my college QB is hitting that one guy all the time. It is frustrating.

When Ridley went out Foster became our #1. He obviously wasn't there mentally.

With that said if you as a WR think you are NFL ready you have to make those catches.

Kirk did. We didn't. That is what made the difference in the scoreline.

I have yet to see one intelligent argument against giving Tua a couple of series every game. Not. One.

I’ll give you a few opinions on that:

1. Why mess with the starting QB ? He isn’t losing the game, and several factors are contributing to the offensive struggle. Obviously the coaches see that.

2. Tua has never played with the game on the line or close to the line. You can say he has looked great in trash time but that doesn’t count.

3. It’s hard for any QB to get a consistency when you are bringing another QB in and out. Jalen is the starter and as such should be the only playing when the game is on the line unless he is injured or having a total meltdown. If he has a meltdown bring in Tua 100%.

Sheesh... Jalen is our QB. If anything, Coach Saban has shown that he will play the QB that gives the team the best chance to win. Jaleb was our top guy last year and continues ti be that guy this year.

Last night was the 1st time I thought the kid seemed a bit hesitant. Its crazy considering all the big games last season, but looking back, this was his 1st start in his home state, and its coming just a few weeks after the devastation of Harvey. I think the segment showing him having to turn his wristbands inside outnshed some light on this factor.

He probably spent all week trying not to get too amped up for this game and came out flat. Kyle field is a raucous environment and our center was already banged up and our top WR got nicked up while the game was still in the balance. This was a perfect storm for us to drop a game, but we won.

We have had ugly wins every season under Coach Saban, but we win... Let's enjoy these moments and look forward to our next blowout RTR!!! I mean we could be in the situation Oklahoma and Michigan are in this morning...

Yeah, he did look hesitant. He took one or two bad sacks as well.

I can see his growth, but sometimes he reverts to last year, feels the pressure and tuck-n-runs too early

That’s a valid point I forgot about that. Didn’t someone say he was emotional coming back to Texas in the locker room ?

What things other than passing ARE you concerned with? (From a performance perspective, so “injuries” wouldn’t count.)

Oline hasn't played consistently well. I guess that directly affects the passing game sometimes.

But seriously, I expect to have sloppy games like this sometimes. Ive gotten to the point where I don't really "worry" about anything regarding our team. I just enjoy the ride, and enjoy watching them win. I have little doubt that our guys will give it their best every time they walk out of the tunnel.

Let's not forget that we were up 24-3 and that series changed the game going forward. I put some of that on Daboll and Saban. As I said in the game thread, we were using Bo way too much. Since his injury Bo just doesn't seem to cut or can't make people miss like he used too. We should have used Jacobs and Harris more. We didn't use any TE or RB screens either. They were selling out to stop the run and blitz Hurts and we did nothing to counter it.

Ya, a pick six can change the complexion of the game and the media would take it and run with a qb controversy story creating distractions. I hope Tua gets a lot more work this year, but also don't see a big deal in him not getting any action in that game on the road yesterday

How can you guys be happy with a quarterback that consistently gives you around 10 completions for about 100 yds at a 5 yard average? It boggles my mind. He can't even get rid of the ball on a good portion of dropbacks. When a decent defense keeps him in check on the ground he looks like Brandon Harris out there except his deep ball sucks. We don't have the 2016 defense to bail us out this year against the good teams. He only looks decent against atrocious defenses and then he only looks good in the short passing game?

When any other player has a terrible game you guys are quick to point it out but Hurts can suck it up throwing the ball and you guys line up the excuses. It was his receivers or because the game was in Texas. Jesus guys, is it really gonna take a loss? Even then you guys will just blame the coaches again. Everybody outside of some of our fans see that he can't pass a football.

Their freshman QB also turned the ball over a couple times - possibly costing his team the game. You gotta take the bad with the good.

Cause he's doing what he's asked to do. Cause he's 20-1. Cause the point is winning, not appealing to the sensibilities of armchair coaches.

And Jalen is giving us 231 yards per game, not 100. And his passing average is 145. And his average per attempt is 7.8, the same as Tua's.

And when Hurts does something well, where are you? Don't act like you're not the same person that you're talking about.

It is annoying when people say "but but but drops and penalties are the reason why Jalen has bad stats" and they don't point out how fortunate he is to have athletes who can get open and sometimes bail him out of bad throws with good catches. It is a two way street.

It is even more annoying when people overlook how bad our OL got dominated last night and the pocket disappeared. I am not even sure it was that bad last year in the NC.
