Called double eagle. Other teams will use this.

It's the 50 defense. This has long been a good idea against Saban if you've got the athletes to do it. The last time auburn beat us, they ran this the 50 defense all game, and was installed just for Bama that week.

Yea, the old bear defense.

I would assume we will spend some serious bye weekend time scheming against that.

they are actually damn good and rank higher than Auburn in almost every category.

Cmon, now. They're statistically a bad defense. Our offense was bad Saturday at everything but running, we don't need to sugarcoat it.

We were inconsistent at running at best.

We had a big play and the rest was hit and miss.

A&M is a pretty efficient defense that gives up tons of big plays. They are also better against the run than the pass, which obviously makes us a better matchup for them than UCLA.

However, that doesn't excuse our 2nd half post-fumble. They aren't that good.

I still contend that Hurts didn't have a bad game. Blatant drops cost him at least 75 yards, and a touchdown.

He also missed a wide open Ridley on a contain break play that would have put us 1st and goal at the 5-10 or have been a TD, threw behind him on an open route on the first drive of the 2nd half that may have been a TD with a better throw and got away with an INT on the goal line.

It was a mixed bag.

Regardless of stats, he seemed off on a number of throws (hopping balls, missing on a wide open deep throw, not leading the receiver letting them catch it in stride) and didn't find his rhythm although he did make some good throws in there as well. He also got happy feet in the face of the pass rush and wasn't going through his progression well and was tucking the ball too quickly IMO.

You can say it was because of the oline playing poorly, but you could also say that him sticking in and delivering some strikes on the mid-range routes would help soften up the d and slow the pass rush.

Chavis is a smart coach who schemed us very effectively.

Exactly. As he has for what, close to a decade?

While I will agree Chavis has had his moments, I do seem to remember JPW carving his arse up to the tune of 41-17 before.

I guess you thought I didn’t look up anything ok dip shite

Total sacks

Texas AM #2 Auburn- not in top 50

Team Tackles for loss

Texas AM # 11 Auburn 40

Texas AM #28 Auburn 22

So my statement from before was related to DL and containing Hurts which, according to stats they do better in more categories than Auburn.

In relation to the defensive strategy here is a good argument on the counter.
