I'm not disagreeing with you, but I would like to know the facts before jumping to conclusions. This just happened a few hours ago, there could be extenuating circumstances we aren't aware of.

Which facts are going to change your mind? They are charged with possession of things that they possessed. This isn't a domestic dispute or questionable DUI arrest. Short of corrupt police planting the items, they're screwed.

Not sure how you can guarantee that.

Besides, if he did do it, he shouldn't be here. I'm not looking for a way to get him off if he actually did what he's charged with. If there is something we are missing, then we will talk.

I don't think the goal should be to get him on the field at all costs.

That would be the best outcome.

There's also this:
quote:

2006 Louisiana Laws - RS 14:69.1 — Illegal possession of stolen firearms

§69.1. Illegal possession of stolen firearms

A. Illegal possession of stolen firearms is the intentional possessing, procuring, receiving, or concealing of a firearm which has been the subject of any robbery or theft under circumstances which indicate that the offender knew or should have known that the firearm was the subject of a robbery or theft.

B. Whoever commits the crime of illegal possession of firearms shall be punished as follows:

(1) For a first offense, the penalty shall be imprisonment, with or without hard labor, for not less than one year nor more than five years.

(2) For second and subsequent offenses, the penalty shall be imprisonment, with or without hard labor, for not less than two years nor more than ten years.

Acts 2000, 1st Ex. Sess., No. 116, §1; Acts 2001, No. 403, §1, eff. June 15, 2001.

Seems like the state has one hell of a burden to make a case in a situation like this. How do they prove someone KNEW or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN for a fact that a weapon was stolen?

I don't hang out with criminal elements, but wouldn't it hurt your sales pitch to say "Hey baw, I stole this gun from the pawn shop downtown. It works just fine."

I doubt Cam stole the gun, and he very well may not have known it was stolen. Most likely he bought it from a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy.

But, still, they're dumbasses, and if everything else is true, should be shown the door.

Is Hurts the new favorite for qb since he is probably the best at running for his life?

Just kick them off.

They shouldn't be around for Saban to kick off. You have to be a student to play football. They shouldn't be.

I think that Alabama students will be kicked out of college if arrested or convicted on felony charges. It's has nothing to do with the athletic or football office.

Well said. We don't want UA to get the kind of reputation FSU has. Moreover, we don't want felons to remain in the student body. Unless more information comes out that makes the situation seem better, he should be gone. The program will be better off this way in the long run.

This is the main issue. School administrators should step up and run their campuses. A coach shouldn't have the option of keeping a person convicted of crimes like this, because the school administration shouldn't allow them to remain in school.

That having been said, I think only someone actually convicted of something like this should be expelled.

At this point, one year of Cam isn't worth the bad PR we would receive over letting him back. The school should tell him to go kick rocks. Hootie too.

You have to be convicted to be a felon, Cam will not be convicted of a felony. If it was just Cam getting arrested by himself, then he might be screwed. Luckily for Cam, he was with someone else. A fall guy. Hootie will have a couple million reasons to say the guns were his.

That sounds like the kind of conspiracy theory you'd hear from an LSU fan. I really would rather just have Robinson kicked off the team than have something sordid like that going on.

You are fricking retarded if you think Cam will pay Hootie millions of dollars to take the fall on the charge that will be pleaded down.

I'm just saying Cam will be on the team this year and will be a top ten pick next year in the draft. Anyone who doesn't believe that, doesn't know how things really work in this world. Cam will not be kicked off the team. Just deal with it people.

I know exactly how they work. Adults don't get out of felony charges simply because they play football at a school in the SEC and will be high NFL draft picks. That is a world that doesn't exist.

I feel like it will be between 1-3 game suspension. Surely there is some way behind the scenes this will be lessened.

Keep telling yourself that buddy. If they had been arrested in T-Town the gun charge would not have been there.
