I know I'll probably be in the minority here but this to me is the dumbest thing to get in trouble for. You know it's illegal in the state of Louisiana (just like meth, crack, ice, etc.) yet you still buy it because it's not a hard core drug. However, it's still illegal. How hard is it not to frick up your life over some rag weed? Now if you live in Colorado or Oregon? Blaze the frick up. But don't do that shite in a state that hasn't legalized it.

Yea - I mean I think smoking weed as an elite athlete is pretty fvckin stupid regardless of where you do it. But if there is a law that, if violated, will mess up your future.......then you have to decide if you have the self control to not give in to urges and risk ruining your career.

However, the weed part of this is pretty minor.

If it was just the pot? Sure. But we're talking about pottentially spending multiple years in prison. That's a big fall to take

Just kick them off. You shouldn't have to tell grown men not to ride around with stolen guns and weed. If the charges stick, it probably won't be in Saban's hands anyway.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I would like to know the facts before jumping to conclusions. This just happened a few hours ago, there could be extenuating circumstances we aren't aware of.

Smoking and possession of a bag of pot and stolen handguns in a parking lot at 4am... I don't expect any good excuses to surface.

Seriously, what the frick are they doing with 2 guns? They could have a trunk full of weed for all I care, but you don't need a gun.

These are felony charges. He's gone.

Cost himself a likely first round draft choice and who knows what he cost the team. How stupid can you be not to keep clean for three years with that kind of future?

Yep. It's a University policy, not a football team policy. He's done.

I'm not making excuses for him, but we've seen in the past multiple situations where a felony was plead down to a misdemeanor. Right or not, I could see it playing out this way for Cam due to it being his first offense.

Conviction of a stolen firearm carries a 1 year minimum jail time in La. 5 years max.

We aren't at this point yet.

That would be the best outcome.

The weed stuff is minor. It makes no sense to me why they would have those guns. So stupid.

He has been charged, not convicted. Chill out people. I guarantee Cam WILL be playing for the Tide this fall.
