Seems like he'd be a perfect fit for the Boston College opening.

Seems weird for them not to even mention him since he's a northern guy with a good pedigree who has turned a program around.

It's weird they didn't go after pearl and he's alum. BCS ad is a douche as well.

Now that Pearl is out of the equation, I was trying to think about someone that could match his hiring. I'll start by saying that this is a pipe dream, but after we fire Grant next year, what if Brad Stevens decides he wants to get back in the college game and leave the Celtics? He probably would take a lesser job like Alabama. Steve Spurrier did it with South Carolina and they were mediocre at best before he arrived. I would say that our basketball program is more relevant than USC's football program was pre-Spurrier. He would be one of the few guys that I would choose over Pearl. I know I'm grasping at straws here, but stranger things have happened.

B.S.

Bama basketball is historically in the top 1/3 of the SEC. USCe football is historically not much better than Vanderbilt and FAR below Ole Miss.

Shocks me, because I think he can get a better gig than that.

Alabama trails only Kentucky in winning % and sec titles. Alabama is absolutely in the top 3 or 4 of the sec' historically in basketball. Even if Mark Gottfried wasn't the answer, he reminded/showed us that Alabama is legit at round ball when the effort is made.

I really feel like Alabama is to basketball what Florida was to football in regards to being a sleeping giant. We just need an AD and BOTs to realize this and not spend so much time investing in football, a product that is doing just fine.
