Tennessee Names Starting Quarterback For Season Opener

Tennessee announced on social media Sunday that new transfer quarterback Joey Aguilar will start for the Vols in the season opener.

Aguilar spent the past two seasons at Appalachian State and transferred to UCLA this offseason. He then moved on to Tennessee after Nico Iamaleava transferred to the Bruins.

Aguilar passed for 3,003 yards and 23 touchdowns with the Mountaineers in 2024.
