Allen earned the nod over freshman Kyler Murray and sophomore Jake Hubenak. Allen started the last five games of 2014, in finishing 3-2 and leading the 8-5 Aggies to a 41-38 victory at then-No. 3 Auburn. He also earned Liberty Bowl most valuable player honors in A&M’s comeback victory over West Virginia.
