Both Pate and Compton picked the Dawgs to come out on top in front of their home crowd, with Compton citing the Georgia home-field advantage as a key to the game for the Bulldogs. Pate said that Ole Miss has the potential to run away with it if Georgia allows them to build a first-half lead, but he’s sticking with the Dawgs for now. Pate noted he likes Ole Miss to cover and gave the Rebels a shot at the outright win.
Lewan, on the other hand, went with the Rebels, pointing to their offense.
“I like Ole Miss in this game,” Lewan said. “They (Georgia) are 1-3 in their last 4 after the first quarter, and that’s really easy to come back from when you’re playing against an Auburn, or the Volunteers, but those are some of the worst secondaries in all of college football. You’re playing a team now that can get ahead of you, and when you try to push the ball downfield, Ole Miss’ secondary is really good.”
