Texas freshman pitcher Drew Rerick announced this week that he will be transferring to Oklahoma to continue his college career. Per SDS:

Rerick played sparingly for Texas as a freshman. He allowed 7 earned runs in 7 innings of work as he adjusted to the college game.

Despite those lackluster results as a freshman, there’s plenty of optimism that Rerick could develop into an impact arm at this level. D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers described Rerick as having a “massive frame with big-time velocity and upside.”

Listed at 6-foot-5, Rerick arrives in Norman with plenty of prospect pedigree. According to Perfect Game, he was the No. 58 overall player and the No. 16 right-handed pitcher in the country for his high school class.

Only in today’s college sports does a player transfer from Texas to OU.
