Chef, I just booked 3 nightsin July at Sea and Breeze on the same block as the pier. I've never stayed at Tybee.

We like to eat shrimp and drink beer. Oysters too. Give me the local scoop on food and beverage in the area.

Thanks buddy.

The beach next to that pier is straight madness during summer months.

True this^ We rent a house for a week every year down there and it's much better than the ratty hotels on the strip. Also one can bicycle anywhere on the island in about ten minutes.

Easy there MoneyBags...

Single income household with a spouse in vet school (borrowing money to do it too).... don't get to rent the MoneyBag Special for 7 nights, big wrap around porch where you can sip your bloody mary at night, listening to the chorus of riparian amphibians, and a 700 square foot modern kitchen with stainless appliances, and golf cart included, with covered parking for your X5, on which you slap UGA Flip Flop stickers, and perhaps a TB sticker.

We get 3 nights at the ratty hotel on the strip, and just want to eat shrimp and drink cheap yellow beer, buy an air-brushed t-shirt with a cumberland island unicorn theme, maybe a shark tooth necklace for me, and a seashell necklace for the wife, and be damn grateful to be blessed enough to have the opportunity to spend some of our numbered days engaging in these activities.

Chef... give me some local tips. What would you recommend for east Georgia trash like ourselves to make the most of our food and beverage experience in the heart of Tybee Island? No kids..

We don't stay with Sandra Bullock down there...

You can find some pretty good deals on all sizes of condo's and houses for rent (usually a two day minimum stay) if you choose is all.

When we rent a house it's usually in a couples group so it breaks down rather nicely.

We are talking about Tybee not Sea Island here...

Thats easy. just stay at one of the terrorist funding motels down front like the best western (@ $100/night)

Everywhere on the island is a 3 dollar island hopper ride from anywhere. And theyre normally at your door in under 10 minutes.

My fav bars are:
The Quarter (best burger on the island and damn good oyster plate. like most bars here their liquor drinks have been linked to erectile dysfunction)

Hucapoos: best locals spot bar none. ridiculously dope pizza and a vibe you could only find on tybee. surrounded by all the thrift store shite you spoke of too

winrose: my personal hole in the wall down on Tybrisa ave. crazy stiff drinks and most nights i find ive held relations with 85% of the females in attendance. almost all locals. the death metal blaring scares off the tire kickers usually

tybee time: my wknd gig and otherwise semi regular hangout. its down front facing the ocean next to Spankys so it pulls a big tourist crowd normally. we play shitty beach music via a DJ so its not uncommon to see milf titties fall out on a fr/sat night

Restaurants: besides the bars with food i listed ima go with North Beach grille. behind the museum on the north end. service is a little slow but well worth the wait while you have drinks

Sundae cafe: easy to miss. beside Chus and the liquor store at the 2nd stop light. excellent food. fried green tomato BLT that is retarded good

If i think of anything else ill post it

Thanks for the info Chef. Those options probably trump the Arby's and Crab Shack

Arby's and Crab Shack

Given the two choices id take arbys. My starve before eating there list includes AJ's, Stingrays, McElwees, crab shack

I prefer Sunrise breakfast buffet to the "world famous" Breakfast Club also. People stand in line for an hour to eat at that damn place. Just dont get it. I can go in sunrise and throw down on infinite bacon for half the price. good arse corn beef hash too

Honorable mention to the Social also. its kinda pretentious for tybee. but i cant help it i like their menu. Didnt eat there forever because my cousin used to have a pizza bar and grille there and i held a grudge. pretty good food and vibe tho
