Well, even gnats have their purpose in the ecosystem I guess. They keep larger superior animals and herds moving by annoying the shite out of them thereby protecting grazing areas from being depleted. And they are food for a lot of superior animals too. Ones that do even more important work, like birds and bats. Would suck to be a lowly gnat though
