most poeple, not talkin about you individually but just as a whole, are idiots. They do not think one second beyond the most primitive caveman emotional reaction when it comes to football. Same with the mouth breathers that continue to talk abotu 2014 SC as a reason they permanently hate bobo even though taht is remakrably unfounded as well. Anyways I'm getting off track here.

Kirby was obvously on saban's staff in 2012. Richt made a terrific fake punt call where arthur lynch (or some other big tight end) was the upback/protector. We had a defensive back lined up split off the LOS and the read showed us that that player was completely uncovered. After getting set and seeing the defense for a second or two we quickly snapped the ball and hit the extremely easy pitch and catch to keep the drive alive. It was absolutley beautiful football.

Even though saban is the greatest CFB coach of all time, somehow, for some reason, alsmost indescribably...he didn't change his punt protection in 6 years. While scouting leading up to the '18 SECCG kirby noticed that everything about that unit and how they operate is the exact same as when he was there. So as any good coach woudl do we put a playcall in there (the same one as in 2012) in case we needed it in our back pocket. Welp we get to the end of the game and whaddayaknow...fortune smiled on us. We got the alignment where the defense left a man uncovered. All we had to do was recognize it as we had drilled all week, snap the ball quickly for a gimme first down, and now we have the ball at midfield with a 1st down and the clock dwindling in a tie game on the wya to a more likely than not field goal attempt to win the game, the SEC, and make the playoffs. That's why the call itself was absolute perfection.

Unfortuantely the execution was the exact opposite and couldn't have been worse. Instead of a big bodied tight end at protector we used the fricking athletic backup QB. I don't know if I'll ever understand the thought process there. Furthermore if memory serves it was deandre swift playing the postiion off the LOS instead of a defnsive back which is another head scracther. We get to the line and swift is uncovered so everything is exactly like we want it. But Fields, who si the one makin the call and calling for the snap, took long as absolute frick. Maybe it's because he's dumb, maybe he was nervous, I don't nkow. But he let the clock bleed out comically long. In that eternity, the defense recognized shite didn't look right and immeditely had someone slide out to cover swift. Once the ball was snapped and the play failed dullards starting calling kirby a moron and an idiot, while not realizing that if we simply put a smarter player in that one position out of eleven we're talking about one of the best calls of all time.
