When I played the head coach decided which colors to wear at home. And, the team always tried to influence him...but we always pulled for the uniforms that looked the best. Never entered our minds to go for a color because of heat.

I really don't give two shits what color we wear,I can understand the Black=Hot thing. When I played,we wore Black Helments, and in two -a day's in August, most certainly you sweat a hellofa lot more with the black heat magnet lids

It has been decided that Bark Vader will stick with the Traditional Red Jersey and Black Helmet since he has an air-conditioned house and bag of ice for his ball sack.

There is some chatter amongst PETA that is gaining traction that he should wear white as well. They claim it is "absolutely stupid" to make him wear such a hot uni at 3:30 in September.

Yes. Can you guess the time, month and what color your mom was wearing when it happened? I've never forgiven her for it. I mean how absolutely stupid could she be? smh #wg_iamyourbrother **cool sound from breathing apparatus**

I'll give you this, you're a committed son of a bitch. Most people would have moved on by now but you're dedicated to a cause and at some point props are deserved.

I agree with wearing white on hot days and screw the black regardless; I'm not into gimmicky crap.

Remember how she would lock me in the car, in my black ninja outfit, at 3:30 in September, while she pushed you around Geargia Square Mall, wearing all white and drinking Icee's?

I DO!!!

If we were 4-0 in Black do you really believe we would have quit wearing it from time to time? Do you really believe that?

There is, literally, no possible way of knowing that. However, I do not believe we would have done it again anyway. Each time we wore them (3 times, not 4 like you keep saying) it was a unique situation. Honestly, how many home night games against big time opponents have we had since then?

09- SC, AU, UK...SC isn't a big enough opponent (we had beaten them 6 of the last 7 meetings, they weren't highly ranked) and we had just done it against AU the last time they were in Athens. Plus we weren't that great in 09.

10-vandy

11- n/a

12- n/a

There haven't been any home night games big enough to warrant a blackout. It's not just something to do any ol' time for the hell of it, it does serve a purpose.

Why do you keep saying we can only have blackouts at night? Does that somehow jibe with your we only wear red at home due to tradition argument?

I will stick with the Black pants against the Gators as being a black uniform gimmick. However I will agree there have only been 3 true blackouts.

I do recall the AD saying no more blackouts / uniform gimmicks after the Gator debacle so I am pretty sure results figure into the equation and that 3:30 time of day, does not.

I think a blackout against LSU would be awesome. Sept. 29th is almost October if that makes you feel any better.

It looks better and it's cooler (if you're hellbent on doing it in september). The original blackout was at 3:30 but it was november so it didn't matter.

Honestly...the biggest purpose is the fans. I mean, the team will NOT play better because they are wearing a certain color....EXCEPT....an alternate color (black) gets the fans fired up, and, hopefully they make MUCH more noise. There is no other reason. Teams might get a small initial lift from wearing a special color, but once the first play or two has been run, the last thing a player is thinking about is the color of the jersey he is wearing. It just isn't happening. The lift MIGHT come from the fans getting into the game and making more noise.

I agree with everything you said.

07 AU- we were in the midst of a straight up RUN towards the end of the year, and had just knocked off florida, and were playing a ranked Auburn team trying to keep ourselves in the national title picture. Warranted.

07 Sugar Bowl- this is the anamoly of the 3. Richt said this was really more of a reward than anything. And hell after the Auburn game I don't blame him for wearing em again

08 bama- Saban, a top 12 bama team facing a top 3 UGA team. Gameday, night kickoff. Honestly we didn't need to wear them, but everyone got so caught up in the memories I can see why we did.

But like I said above there haven't been any games since then that would really warrant it. I do know that this LSU game won't.

I'll say the same thing now that I said the day after the Auburn game. I think we should use the black jerseys like Notre Dame uses the green jerseys. Don't plan it, don't circle a game every year, none of that. Just like once every 7 or 8 years out of nowhere, just tell the fans the day before a game and watch everyone go ape shite. We went to the well too much, and I'd think that even if we HAD won the bama game. They should be special, something that has a certain mystique and aura about them. If we do it every 2 or 3 years it loses it's luster and doesn't mean as much.
