Seems like Jonas Hayes would be a top candidate

Which would be maddening and typical of a mcgarity hire. With any of our big time sports (so not the women's volleyball of the world), the first question we should ask is "have we searched all over the country and found the absolute very best person possible for this position?". The question of "do they have ties to UGA" needs to be thrown out the window. Jonas hayes has NEVER been a head coach, why in the frick should he be our #1 candidate? Because he can probably recruit well? Becuase he played here? So what?

We could likely do a ton worse than jonas, so I'm not saying we shouldnt' even consider him. But he should be WAY down our list of names and only look into it if we whiff on the home run hires that are hopefully higher on our list.

Knowing that Brooks scoured the country and somehow pulled an elite track coach from USC to come here shows me that he's serious about finding the best for our programs and I expect basketball will be no different.

That is how we end up back here in 4 years. We need a proven commodity. Someone with rings.
