Man that's wild. All this time on here and I never knew you were a coach.

That's awesome. Hope you guys had a good year. I'll be trying to break into the industry after I graduate from getting my masters in two years. Any great tips?

Special Ed and/or History.

A few decent ones in HS. My great ones are in college but I'm sure they have great relationships with some HS coaches.

Go ahead and start being a community coach somewhere to build some connections. What do you plan on teaching?

Try to be able to teach both. If you want to teach high school sped you'll have to be highly qualified in a subject anyways.

When it comes time to job hunt go the County level job fairs and regional jobs fairs. That's the best way to get in to the job if you don't have a connection.

For sure. The good thing is I'm not like some guys with none since I work for a college team. That helps right?

Everything helps. If you're a GA somewhere then they'll look at that experience highly.

When you go for a job interview agree to coach pretty much anything. I lost a job because I pretty much said I have not clue how to coach baseball.

Cobb County used to be a strong district while producing some nice recruits. It's been downhill for a while now.

Douglas County has also fallen off badly.

Now that I'm jealous of. I'd love to do that but having a wife and house makes it hard to do.

Might be the worst county in Metro Atlanta. Once that "honey hole" dried up for DCHS it's been down hill since.

No doubt. That's why I'm doing it right after I graduate so I can get it done ASAP

Plus it's a nice little pay raise to start out teaching.
