This is very true. Especially of Baylor. TCU at least had dominating the Mountain West to lean on, even if that isn't actually very impressive. Baylor had nothing. They were awful, but they are an hour and a half or so up the road from Austin, UTw was winning, they could tell themselves that while they were Baylor fans UTw was their "public" school, so during the 2000s they were UTw fans. Almost all of them were.
