It's not Honeycut's fault. He is playing the best he can. We just need to recruit a few more stallions on defense. It's all coming together.

Clay has failed at times but the TD that's hung on him vs SHSU was as much Donnie Bagg's fault as Honeycutt's, which is the case on almost every big play

Which is why neither Honeycutt or Baggs should be starting at their respective positions.

I fully get that players need to accept a certain amount of criticism for their play. That goes with the territory of accepting a scholarship to a major university. And I also fully understand that many times the criticism will be completely unwarranted coming from people like yourself who don't really understand anyone's assignment.

But when you show your ignorance and get called out on it, don't double down and bash someone else. Our players deserve better. Let me humbly suggest you post in the spirit of the thread and quit trying to call out individual players.

You still have yet to show how our best option at Free Safety is Clay Honeycutt (a converted quarterback and scout team journeyman) and our best option at Mike Linebacker is Donnie Baggs (a natural WILL linebacker).

Now I have to "show" you something to get you to quit ignorantly bashing A&M players? Go home CGSC, you're drunk.

In a 3-4 base defense, your top tacklers should either be inside linebackers or your strong safety.

In a 4-3 base defense, your top tacklers should either be your rush end, middle linebacker, or outside linebacker.

Out of all our top tacklers:

Leading tackler is the SS with 26 total (16 solo), ZERO TFL

#2 leading tackler is the FS with 25 total (10 solo), ZERO TFL

#3 leading tackler is a CB with 17 total (4 solo) and 2 TFL

#4 leading tackler is a backup linebacker with 13 total (2 solo) and 2 TFL

#5 leading tackler is a CB with 13 total (8 solo)

#6 leading tackler is our starting WILL who has only played 1 game with 13 total (2 solo), 1 TFL, and 1 forced fumble

#7 leading tackler is our starting Middle Linebacker who has 12 total (4 solo) tackles in 3 games, ZERO TFL, ZERO FF, ZERO INT, etc.
