a reset is looking more and more like the best option for our program.

Don't worry about the Mizzou game. Tennessee may beat Mizzou by 80 points! Barely decent high school teams could beat Mizzou this year.

I hate to say this: LSU literally made Mizzou quit.

TN will definitely win the Mizzou game.

Post on VN that I've seen on twitter looks pretty accurate re: Hurd.

I saw the same thing on fl98. Transferring out and moving to WR/TE

Tee Martin was fricking spot on

That being said, Butch is a fricking moron too and has misused Hurd terribly here imo. A good coach adjusts his scheme to fit his players' strengths instead of trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. Butch is either too stupid see it or too stubborn to change anything

Definitely brings his toughness into question.
As long as kamara can make it back soon it's honestly not that big of a loss anyways

Nah. Hurd is just pitifully overrated and since he was the only star player at the time thought a little too highly of himself (we did too because we hadn't had a running game in forever and his commitment was huge at the time). He made up for his lack of vision and speed by playing angry but now that he's not doing that (no effort from him) and we've seen what other backs on the same shitty OL can do it's obvious Hurd is the 3rd best RB on the team.

Also the rumor on VQ is that Hurd quit after the his TD at UGA and then later begged to be let back on the team. The team voted and decided he could return but the condition placed on him was that he sit out against TAMU.

Further, Fortenberry has pretty much said that we've got an issue on offense with the implication being that players aren't pleased with a certain player and that it may be causing a bit of a divide. It wouldn't be a surprise if Hurd isn't the problem.

Finally, it's pretty well been said that his issue isn't physical and Brice (think it was him) noted that Hurd did indeed take himself out of the SC game after a run.

Behavior like that can cause the entire team turmoil. All it takes is one drama queen for shite to go down the drain. The mistake the coaches made was not giving Kelly and Kamara more snaps sooner but it's hard to blame them for hoping Hurd would wake the hell up and play (as noted above kid ain't LF7 and he's tanking his own stock the way he's played this year).

I told y'all at the start that something was very wrong with this team's attitude and to be honest this explains a helluva lot about why the offense has played so terrible and identity wise why it's been so different compared to every other team we've seen from CBJ. This team hasn't been the opposite of every other CBJ coached team in terms of both discipline and heart and one or two shitty attitudes can have a major impact.

This all reminds me of something... Anyone remember that bizarre comment from Neuhiesel (sp?) at the beginning of the year? It was weird as hell at the time but he said back then that CBJ was dealing with stuff that no head coach should have to deal with but that it would get worked through and would eventually be alright. He wouldn't say more than that because he said it was told to him off the record. He said that before the season even began. This Hurd drama and 99 team attitude would fit well with that statement. It's been obvious since the App St. game that something (aside from the OL sucking balls) was off with this team.

Good info. Thanks. One thing to like about Jones was that the team was usually ready to play.

Tennessee Tech is either really lucky to be next up, or really unlucky.

One thing I seem to recall about the '99 team was that 5 juniors from the '98 team all went to the NFL. Fulmer begged them to stay. Deon Grant was one. As I recall also he broke his hip at his first NFL camp.

So apparently Hurd is gone and is going to play WR/TE somewhere.

I don't think he's overrated. He's just a bad fit for that O.
