Florida's defense has been lights out this year. What happens to their confidence and psyche if we are able to move the ball on them? I was surprised last year how we moved the ball last year despite not being able to throw the ball at all. IF and it's a big IF, the line can hold it together (remember they weren't great last year vs. Florida) we should be able to get some scores. RUN DOBBS. ALL. GAME. LONG.

I think we have a fighters chance. All depends on the O-line and I really like the possibilities with Byrd on the field the same time Kamara is. Byrd is going to be something special.

IIRC, we used a lot of sweeps to open up UF's Defense last year. While I'm not a big fan of the jet sweep Pig could usually make things happen with it (VP was hit or miss as he just wasn't fast enough). I think Byrd or Kamara could do some damage running that play.

With sweeps, they don't have to be successful in gaining yardage to be a success. They are designed to wear down a fast D by making them run sideline to sideline.

And no, I can't believe I'm advocating it (they used to drive me batshit) but after watching our OL play it's pretty clear we need to run the jet sweep on occasion.

That wasn't last year. Pig was MIA and Pearson either didn't even play or barely played. It was Dobbs and Hurd just running it down their throats every play.

Didn't we still sweep it with someone (maybe Jennings or Smith)? At any rate, we used something more than just power running to break through their DL. I know we had the badass trick play with Jennings' pass to Dobbs but we had more than that too. It wasn't just line up and run down their throats although we did pretty much run the entire time. There was more creativity than just head on line vs line runs.

EDIT: One thing I haven't seen us do much this year is send Hurd to the edges. We made a lot of bread out of doing that but it's AWOL this year. I don't know if that's because we're used to running behind our RT or if it's a weakness for both tackles or what.

One other thing we need to do: Send Croom up the middle from the TE spot. Dobbs is money on those throws (he's good between the hashes) and Croom is a mismatch. That's something that could pick apart and back off Florida's D without risking the ball against their corners which is their strength.

Florida's LBers seemed to be over aggressive in stopping the run with no thread of a pass vs. NT and they will vs us until we counter it. We need to be able to hit the TE over the middle for big plays. We hit one to Wolf last year vs. Florida. I'm not talking about the TE passes when they get destroyed immediately out in the flat.

Croom is playing TE better than Wolf right now. That's the reason I chose him over Wolf. He's also faster but really IDC which one we use as long as we utilize the TE and he catches the ball. I think right now Croom is the far more dangerous option (he can make bigger plays).
