According to 247, 2011 Auburn was the least talented championship team of the last 10 years with an average class ranking of 14.75.
Second was Clemson with 12.75.
If you are not consistently recruiting in the top 15, you can forget winning a championship.

Look at the offer list.
Although ... nothing is 100%. Occasionally a kid will commit early and be rock solid so they may not get quite all the offers they might otherwise.
