Alright that is just a poor troll.

You consider Kailo a decommit when he never committed to this staff? I disagree with that, but I agree with you that no one wants him in Starkville. We actually want that kid and that's why we are still fighting for him. Out of everyone left on our board I believe Kailo to he a reb as much as any. Whether he ends up one doesn't matter to this argument. Freeze has lost two commits. Allen because of distance ( you can't say that Indiana out recruited us or is a more intriguing school) and Hill to the top program in the country. That's it. Not some crazy number 7 that you had. So you can stop with the garbage that Yancy is making up shite because we are on some snowball with losing 7 commits. Still brings us back to my original point. No shame in losing a kid to Indy because of distance and no shame in losing a previous committed Bama kid to the top program in the country, so why make shite up?

This thread is hilarious. You will never see any State poster on the TD knight for any MSU writer the way you are knighting for Yancy tonight. It has been pleasure to read. But whereisomaha gonna homer.

Point out where I'm not using logic. Homerism is ignoring logic because you're too biased to see the truth. So please go ahead and show where my logic is flawed or where logic proves me wrong. Or just jump in threads like you usually do with no point, just a snide remark, because you have nothing to say

Even if yancy does bullshite sometimes I don't get the obsession State fans have for calling him out on it, like all the fricking time.
I think they're still mad from getting clowned by him multiple times 2 years ago.

What about Darious Cummings?
I know your answer to that -- and that very answer is Yancy spin at it's finest. A JUCO DT that is good enough for Florida is good enough for Ole Miss 10 times out of 10 assuming there is room in your class(there is). You didn't even come close to filling your allotment of 7 new scholarship EEs, did you? Every one of those scholarships that you don't use THIS year -- you lose -- they don't roll over for another year. If your numbers problem is how Freeze makes it seem, why would he leave a scholarship on the table like that? Either his roster management skill is called to question -- or there is more to the story?

I'll freely admit that I hated him 2 years ago. Hated him for what he was saying and then hated him for being right about it all. He went bold and he was correct. The truth is that with Nutt's staff, Yancy had the best "sources" of any recruiting writer in the country. They told him literally everything. I truly believe that. Given all that, going bold and being wrong has an equal and opposite reaction. It has made his "fall from grace" under Freeze's staff absolutely enjoyable for us--and anytime he is wrong, we are going to rub his face in it.
Probably true that it is to some degree still sour grapes about 2011. Hell, there are a crapload of OM fans that still hate Gene over Robert Elliot's recruitment -- so let's not pretend that we are the only ones that hold a grudge like that.

Florida also went after the kid that started over Cummings who has 3 years to play instead of two. Out of the three pick your two between Hooks (#1 JUCO DL and 1st state) Reed (3 years to play also 1st team and started over Cummings) or Cummings? How exactly is there room for Cummings. We have 5-6 spots for early enrollment depending on if you count Brassell or not (some do some don't). Hooks, Dodson, Liggins, Morgan, and Mireless are the five. Brassell would be the 6. Next
Edit: bottom line is if we tried to keep Cummings we would have never gotten Hooks who everyone would agree is better. State fans loathe Yancy and attack every word he puts out no matter the logic behind it

Brassell doesn't count since he falls under his initial LOI.
You have 7 EE spots. I don't know or care what Yancy told you on that - it's what you have. Show me how you are filling all 7? You can't. You got a nice consolation prize in the 2 other DTs you got no doubt -- but Cummings straight up flipped. You wasted slots. You don't turn down a 4* DT in order to give away available scholarship slots. Sorry. Just does not happen.
Also, this "obvious choice" isn't nearly as obvious as you make it seem.
If Hooks was scared out of going go to Ole Miss because he had to compete with a(grand total) of 3 other legit DT prospects on the whole roster, that doesn't say much about his confidence in his talents. Guys with that kind of talent go where they want to. They don't look at depth charts for playing time. 4-5 is a reasonable number of DTs anyway -- about what you would have in rotation regardless.
This is almost like the State fans chastising Cam Newton for going to Auburn because they returned 4 scholarship QBs compared to MSU's 2...

Ok I'll explain again...
We signed 19 kids. 18 made it to campus. Which means we had room for 7 EE. We took a walkon JUCO who was our first corner off the bench and was very valuable. He is awarded one of the 7 EE. We are down to 6 now, hope you're still keeping up. We picked up a kicker from Bama and offered him a GS. He is awarded the other EE from the original 7. With the walkon and the GS we went from 7 to 5 EE. Mireless, Hooks, Morgan, Liggins, and Dodson are the 5. Keep in mind that is also before we dropped Whitchett who we accepted a commitment from as long as he ended up a dec grad. Where does this get confusing for you?

First off that's not true at all. No matter how good a JUCO is, depth charts matter but I didn't mean we wouldn't have gotten Hooks because of "too many DT's" I meant it that we would not have had room for him, or would not have gone after Reed. No way we would have taken 3 JUCO DT's.

The entire thing is confusing because it appears to be more Yancy bullshite.
First of all - A walkon awarded a scholarship does not sign an LOI. Thus, they do not count against a signing class or signing limit - only the 85-man roster. IF these guys counted against a signing class, MSU would not have ever been able to award Cherrington a scholarship - or we would have had to sign fewer guys in either the 2012 or 2013 classes. We haven't. Georgia put something like 12 walk-ons on scholarship last year. Does that mean they can only sign 13 this year? See how that logic doesn't work?
A greyshirt coming onto scholarship does count against you. That leaves you with 6, where you still can't make the numbers work out. You'll never convince me that Cummings isn't the better usage of a scholly compared to a kicker -- especially when said kicker could accept a walk-on spot and "earn" a scholarship opportunity in his first semester on campus and not count against the class.

Take em to church WIO.
ETA:
Engie - what the frick is your point? We get it, you get a chub when Yancy is wrong. Lemme tell ya, Yancy could give a frick ab what State fans think. In fact, he finds it hilarious how much hate is directed his way from state fans such as yourself. We also get we just lost out on a few of these guys, it happens - next man up.
Care to put as much effort into breaking down the talent we will possibly bring in on DL even without Cummings?

Explain the difference between a GS and a walk on if you give both a scholarship in the same signing period as when they joined the team? Terrell Brown was awarded a scholarship this season just like Covington was. The only difference is Covington joined the team during the '12 season (last signing class) while Brown joined the team in '10. Brown counts against the 85 since he didnt join the team in the previous recruiting class before the new class signed like Covington did. Freeze would take another JUCO OL or TE before he would take another DT anyway, but as I've pointed out, we don't have room for one
