He had previously committed as a Jr to the old staff, took a few visits this spring but decided to reaffirm with VU last night. Only taking 2 DBs in a class of just 15 and VU badly wanted Sheffield as the one "true" CB prospect. 2nd DB will likely be someone who can play either S or CB.

Great job by Mason and Co in showing the young man that his coaching staff means business.

It's a big get for him early in the 2015 class especially being one of the best in state during a cycle where VU has a good shot with several other quality in state players. Mason predictably has had his most early success recruiting DBs now holding on to 3 4*s that were committed under Franklin and adding a few other solid looking guys to the mix.

Must have felt good about Sheffield from the beginning, i was getting frustrated that VU had not offered Ugo Amandi (who just committed to OM) but makes sense why an offer was not extended now.

At least he was not desperately tweeted to please come to Vandy.

I was worried -- he seemed like he was personally committed to Franklin rather than Vandy

(Assuming he's the one I'm thinking of. It'd be nice if there was some magical tool...let's call it a 'search engine' or something...that allowed me to track down old articles I once read on the Internet. Maybe someday that'll happen. Or, if it has already happened, maybe someday I won't be too lazy to go use it.)
