I would definitely say so because Aaron Murray is becoming very talented, and the UGA defense with Jarvis Jones would do a good job. I think LSU's offense would struggle more against them, too, mainly because of the new QB but AJ McCarron is getting more experienced and consistent.

I don't think Arkansas has nearly the talent as Georgia overall.

Who would LSU or Bama folks rather play this year- USC or UGA?

Man, that requires a whole lot of assumptions. Assuming LSU/Bama have a top 5 calibre D. Assuming Zach is a real QB, and AJ's step up in bowl game is real and improved upon through 2012 season. If all this is true, to be honest, UGA/SCar are going to need 2 more gears. Might be homerish but it is what I really think.

In terms of talent, sure they've got a very solid roster and i agree that they'll be the only one from the east that can compete with lsu or alabama. Richt is the issue, however....

Bobo is the issue. Richt's fault Bobo is there but he's the real problem.

They say this stuff every year. In my opinion GA is the ARKY of the east.

I disagree. They're a good football team with an experienced quarterback, solid talent, and an improving defense under Grantham. Richt is a bit of an underachiever, but his real problem is Bobo and his loyalty. Not saying after last season changing coordinators, all things considered, would have been the best decision for a team that will contend for the SEC title this year, but he's a liability for them.

Agree with this. We will have a younger revamped OL so even with stud RB's I'm not expecting much in the running game; in other words about the same as the last 2 years. This means Murray has to get it done again with the passing game and with Malcome Mitchell moving to CB I expect less production there also. This means the defense is going to have to play even better and will probably have to win some games for us. Brand new kickers does not bode well also with an already shaky special teams.

In short I think our team is overrated. We might win the East but I don't see us beating either Bama or LSU.

I think Wesley picks up the slack of losing Mitchell, dude is fast. Our only questions are O-Line and Murray not making stupid mistakes in crunch time. The LSU-UGA game would have been a lot closer had we not dropped 2 TD's.

If they can get it together on the o-line and play a full sixty minute game yes they can topple LSU or Alabama.

UGA will easily be good enough to win the east. Now, whether they do that is another question. It always has been under Richt.

Whether they are strong enough to beat the SECW winner is another question. If its Auburn...good chance. if its Bama or LSU, no. Arkansas, Pick em.

Oh yeah. They have the talent. Whether they do that is another question. My point is that Georgia has depth and quality players. If they can manage to ge t the players to all perform as a team etc, has historically been a question under Richt, especially early in the season.

Mainly because they don't play the great teams from the West again.

Possibly, UGA certainly has the potential, but I don’t think they live up to it

THIS!!! ^^^ There is no question that Georgia has the talent, but I do question most everything else that is required for them to pose a serious threat to Bama or LSU. However, if they get all those issues straightened out, heads up! In my mind, there
is no reason why UGA should not be competing for the NC on a somewhat regular basis.

Shazam! It's called a coaching change.

UGA has had problem running the ball..Crowell as a true frosh helped Boise beat them last year when he didnt pick up a block and Murray fumbled and a TD resulted. Crowell also had other issues, as had a bunch of rbs at UGA the past number of years.
Lattimore types are hard to find. We have some new rb blood coming to UF this year and next, so hopefully we will be able to pick up the tough yds running. Until UGA can run the ball well they will be second tier. JMHO.
I think LSU is loaded with rbs...if they can throw well...then they should be standing at the top of the pile.
